A major proportion of the carboxylic groups may be cross-linked with polyvalent cations, e.g. from zinc oxide or sodium aluminate.

摘要： The invention relates to an aqueous dry strength composition suitable for use in manufacture of paper, board or the like. The composition includes a mixture of a synthetic polymer component, which is a copolymer of acrylamide and at least one anionic monomer, and a cationic starch component. The polymer component has an anionicity of 1-60 mol-%. The synthetic polymer component and cationic starch component provide the composition with a charge density in the range of 0.05-1 meq/g, when measured at pH 2.8, and 0.2-−3 meq/g, when measured at pH 7.0. The invention also relates to a method for making of paper, board or the like, where the dry strength composition is diluted with water, and the solution of the dry strength composition is added to the fibre stock before or after the addition of a cationic strength agent.

摘要： Method of papermaking comprises: treating filler with a starch and a flocculant to form a filler floc; combining the filler floc with the cellulose fiber stock; and forming a paper mat from the combination of filler floc and cellulose fiber stock. The method have been found to result in larger particle sizes for the filler flocs, improved shear stability, and improved sheet strength in the paper mat.

摘要： The invention relates to a process for the production of paper, card and board, including the steps of draining a filler-containing paper stock, having a certain fibrous concentration and containing at least one water-soluble amphoteric copolymer, with sheet formation in a wire section, then pressing the paper in a press section, diluting the paper stock to a fibrous concentration in the range from 5 to 15 g/l, draining the diluted paper stock to form a sheet, and then pressing the sheet in the press section to a solids content G(x) wt % or greater, such that G(x) computes according to: G(x)=48+(x−15)·0.4, where x is the numerical value of a filler content of the dry paper, card or board (in wt %), and G(x) is a numerical value of the minimal solids content (in wt %) to which the sheet is pressed.
