    • The present invention provides a porous electrode substrate that has high sheet strength, low production cost, and sufficient gas permeability and electrical conductivity, and a method for producing the same. In the present invention, the porous electrode substrate is produced by producing a precursor sheet including short carbon fibers (A), and one or more types of short precursor fibers (b) that undergo oxidation and/or one or more types of fibrillar precursor fibers (b′) that undergo oxidation, all of which are dispersed in a two-dimensional plane, subjecting the precursor sheet to entanglement treatment to form a three-dimensional entangled structure, then impregnating the precursor sheet with carbon powder and fluorine-based resin, and further heat treating the precursor sheet at a temperature of 150° C. or higher and lower than 400° C. This porous electrode substrate includes a three-dimensional entangled structure including short carbon fibers (A) dispersed in a three-dimensional structure, joined together via oxidized fibers (B), short carbon fibers (A) and oxidized fibers (B) being further joined together via carbon powder and fluorine-based resin.

    • A handicraft needle punch set includes a needle puncher, and an assisting tool used in performing needle punching to an object. The assisting tool includes a plurality of tubular template portions each having a desired sectional shape. The needle puncher includes a plurality of needles, a grip member supporting the needles in a manner allowing the tips of the needles to protrude to the outside, and a tubular attachment member detachably attached to the grip member. The tubular attachment member is configured to surround the needles in a noncontact manner and have a contact end portion coming into contact with the upper portions of the tubular template portions.

    • A substrate for artificial leathers which is composed of a nonwoven fabric made of fiber bundles of microfine fibers having an average single fiber fineness of 0.5 dtex or less and an elastic polymer impregnated into the nonwoven fabric. The substrate for artificial leathers satisfies the following requirements 1 and 2: (1) the number of fiber bundles which are oriented to a thickness direction of the nonwoven fabric is 75 to 300 per 1 cm of width which is perpendicular to the thickness direction, when measured on a cross section parallel to the thickness direction; and (2) the number of cross sections of the fiber bundles which are oriented to the thickness direction is 30 to 800 per 1 mm2, when measured on a cross section perpendicular to the thickness direction. The substrate for artificial leathers is suitable for the production of a grain-finished artificial leather which combines a non-repulsive softness and firm hand resembling natural sheep leathers and has fine buckling wrinkles, and a suede-finished or nubuck artificial leather having a surface touch with fine texture and a grace writing effect each being hitherto not obtained.
