    • An inserter apparatus has a printer A and an inserter apparatus B. The inserter apparatus B has a discharged paper carrying section 17 of printing papers from the print section 13; a counter section 19 for counting the number of sheets of the printing papers; a paper feeding section 21 for setting the insert paper therein; and a paper feeding controller 23. Based on insert information from the insert information output section 9, the paper feeding controller 23 controls the insert paper to be fed at a timing before the next paper interval is passed after a count value of the counter section 19 reaches one page before the insert page. Therefore, it is possible to realize an excellent short insert processing for the printing papers.

    • A banknote stacking apparatus includes a banknote stacking plate 1 on which banknotes are to be stacked, a first banknote press member 11 fixed to a support shaft 10 so as to be swingably together with the support shaft 10, a second banknote press member 15 which is formed of a synthetic resin sheet having flexibility, whose upstream end portion is fixed to the banknote stacking apparatus and whose downstream end portion is fixed to the first banknote press member 11 and a solenoid 27 for driving the first banknote press member 11 and the banknote stacking apparatus is constituted so that when a banknote is fed into the banknote stacking apparatus and the first banknote press member 11 is driven by the solenoid 27, the first banknote press member 11 is swung and presses a portion of a banknote close to the front end portion thereof and the second banknote press member 15 is swung together with the first banknote press member 11 and deformed so as to form a convex portion 15c projecting toward the banknote, whereby a portion of the banknote close to the rear end portion thereof is pressed by the convex portion 15c of the second banknote press member 15. According to the thus constituted banknote stacking apparatus, a banknote can be stacked on the banknote stacking plate 1 in the desired manner using a single drive means.

    • In a sheet delivery/guide apparatus, a sheet released from a convey device and falling piles on a first pile device. A first blowing device is arranged above the first pile device and blows toward the first pile device. An air controller selectively performs switching between an air supply state and an air supply stop state of the first blowing device for the sheet. A guide member is supported movably and guides the sheet that passes the first pile device while being held by the convey device. A guide member switching unit switches the guide member between a guide position to enter a sheet falling path, extending from the convey device to the first pile device, to guide the sheet, and a retreat position to retreat from the sheet falling path. A controller controls the air controller and the guide member switching unit on the basis of a convey speed of the convey device. Thus, in a first mode in which the sheet piles on the first pile device, the air supply state of the first blowing device for the sheet is effected and the guide member is positioned at the retreat position. In a second mode in which the sheet passes the first pile device and is conveyed downstream in a sheet convey direction, the air supply stop state of the first blowing device for the sheet is effected and the guide member is positioned at the guide position.

    • A sheet feeder has a feed passage and includes feed roller pairs, sensors, and a controller. The feed roller pairs are arranged along the feed passage and feed sheets of paper in a feed direction along the passage by nipping the sheets. Each of the sensors is fitted at or near one of the feed roller pairs and senses a specified point on each of the sheets when the sheet is nipped by at least the associated roller pair. The controller includes a memory for storing reference feed timings as proper feed timings at each of which the specified points on the sheets should pass one of the sensors. The controller finds the real feed timing when each of the sensors senses the specified point on the sheet nipped by at least the associated roller pair.
