    • A tire mounting/dismounting machine (1), comprising a base (2), rotating means (3) for supporting and blocking a wheel (100) and a column (4) associated to the base (2), a first arm (7) and a second arm (8) being slidably mounted on the column (4), an upper first debeader tool (13) and a lower second debeader tool (9) being mounted respective at free ends of each arm (7, 8). Mounted at the free end of the first arm (7) is a head (10) which is rotatable with respect to an axis (Y), from which head a mounting tool (11), a dismounting tool (12) and the first debeader tool (13) project, the tools (11, 12, 13) being mounted in reciprocal positions such that the tools (11, 12, 13) do not interfere with one another and such that by rotating the head (10) with respect to the first arm (7) a same work position can be reached for each of the tools (11, 12, 13). Means for blocking (14, 15, 16, 17) are associated to the head (10) in three different positions, a same work position for each of the tools (11, 12, 13) corresponding to each of the three different positions.

    • The present invention concerns in particular a process for mounting onto a wheel rim (10), on the one hand a tyre (600) comprising first and second beads (620, 610) respectively designed to be mounted on a first and a second rim seat (13′, 13″), and on the other hand a safety support designed to be mounted inside the tyre on a bearing surface of the rim. This process comprises the following successive stages: (a) the tyre provided with the support in its inside space is brought to the rim, offering the second bead (610) on the side of the first seat (13′), (b) the second bead is slipped over the bearing surface so as to introduce it into a mounting groove and the support is positioned partially in place on the bearing surface, the first bead then being located axially outside the first seat, (c) the support is fitted fully onto the bearing surface, (d) the first bead (620) is mounted on the first seat, (e) the second bead is extracted from the groove so that it can be brought axially outside a projection of the second seat (13″), (f) the second bead is mounted on the second seat. According to the invention, before implementing stage (b) a mean (510) for extracting the second bead in positioned at the bottom of the groove and, to implement stage (e), the second bead is guided axially towards the outside of the groove and the second seat by pivoting the extraction means around an axis (512) located radially on the inside of the rim.

    • A method for dismounting self-supporting tyres (1) from the relative rim (2), said self-supporting tyres comprising an outer cover (10) that contains a rigid auxiliary ring (16) provided with two flexible sidewalls (18, 19). Said method comprises the operating steps of: lifting a first bead (14) of the outer cover (10) away from the rim (2) in a usual manner, so as to make a first sidewall (18) of the auxiliary ring (16) accessible; inserting a dismounting tool (5) between the elastic edge of said first sidewall (18) of the auxiliary ring (16) and the edge of the rim (2); moving said dismounting tool (5), so as to grip the elastic edge of said first sidewall (18) and to turn a part thereof towards the outside; pushing said turned part of the first sidewall (18) outwards, making it slide in contact with the dismounting tool (5), until it passes over the edge of the rim (2); rotating the auxiliary ring (16) according to the central axis (A) of the rim (2), so that the entire elastic edge of the first sidewall (18) interacts with the dismounting tool (5), and is thus completely lifted away from the rim (2); lifting both the second sidewall (19) of the auxiliary ring (16) and the second bead (15) of the outer cover (10) away from the rim (2) in the usual manner.
