    • A disposable cleaning device for the barrel or bore of a gun or firearm is provided which comprises a jag member which is adapted to contain a cleaning fluid for the barrel or bore, which jag member has means at one end for securing to a ram-rod or cable and also has means for allowing the cleaning fluid to contact an absorbent cleaning material. In certain embodiments the absorbent cleaning material surrounds the jag member and is pre-wetted with cleaning fluid or becomes wetted with cleaning fluid after a rupturable means within the jag member containing the cleaning fluid is ruptured or broken. In other embodiments, the jag member includes an internal chamber containing the cleaning fluid sealed with a rupturable or removable membrane or member, which when ruptured or removed, allows cleaning fluid to escape and contact cleaning material which is, or which is brought, in proximity to the chamber. In all the embodiments of the invention the devices have self-contained storage of cleaning fluid and are disposable after a single use.

    • A device for use in measuring stratified fluid levels in a container is disclosed. The device has a microwave transceiver sensor head attached to a waveguide sensor rod which is enclosed by a gauge tube. The rod end tubes are comprised of sections which allow them to be assembled or disassembled in a close quarters environment. The tube has a plurality of circumferentially and longitudinally spaced slots providing for the equalization of stratified fluids within the tube. The rod is generally radially centered in the tube by the use of a plurality of spacers which reside in notches in the rod. The spacers are adapted to not penetrate the slots in the tube. The rod can be removed from the tube for cleaning without draining the tank. Additionally, once the rod is removed from the tube, a cleaner brush or scraper can be used to remove any barnacles or other debris from within the tube and the longitudinal slots in the tube.

    • A tool 10 for suspending in a well retrieves various metal debris from the well, and includes an elongate tool body 12 within a plurality of circumferentially shaped slots 14. Each slot having a radially outward portion with a circumferential width less than a circumferential width of a radially inward portion. The plurality of magnets 16 are provided in each slot, and one or more stop rings 18 retain the plurality of magnets in the slots while allowing for removal of the magnets from the slots. Each of the plurality of magnets 16 may be substantially enclosed within a non-ferrous carrier 26 having an outer configuration for fitting within a respective of one of the plurality of slots. According to the method of invention, the magnets are postioned within the slots and are retained within the slots by the one or more stop rings, and the elongate tool body and the plurality of the magnets are suspended in a well.

    • A method and tool for cleaning a watercraft speedometer are disclosed. The tool comprises a body, an extraction tip extending therefrom, and at least one edge on the extraction tip that can catch matter in the cavity. The extraction tip is attached to the body and is approximately the size and shape to fit into an intake cavity of a speedometer mechanism so as not to damage the intake cavity. The extraction tip edge is used for extracting debris from the intake cavity. Twisting the extraction tip into the intake cavity and pulling the extraction tip out of the intake cavity results in catching and withdrawing debris from the intake cavity.

    • A cleaning device and method for making which is constructed from a flexible base member of thermoplastic material to which a plurality of fibers are fused and protrude therefrom, and formed into a curvilinear configuration such as a helix-like, or U-shaped-like configuration. The method includes the steps of heating the base until it is softened and bent to a U-shape like configuration and then cooling the base member, or helically winding the base onto a rotating mandrel; stopping the mandrel and severing an end of the base member; and cooling the base member so that it retains its U-shape or helical configuration. A core member may also be inserted through the opening in the helix-like configuration and attached at one or more points of the base member permitting the cleaning device to be pushed through tubular members.
