摘要： A reinforced plastic composite structure, particularly a pipe, is disclosed herein. The composite pipe, which resists acid attack even in underground applications where the pipe is subjected to external loading stresses, typically includes at least an inner zone, e.g. a resin impregnated fibrous sheet and an outer zone including a layer or layers of fibers. A cured polymeric resin matrix bonds the fibrous sheet and the fibrous layers together in a laminar relationship. The improvement disclosed herein comprises incorporating into this polymeric resin matrix a particulate substance which has specific particle size limitations and which is selected from the group consisting of portland cement, marble dust or a mixture thereof.

A shroud is provided for the attenuation zone which retains heat and limits the amount of dilution air that is entrained by the attenuation blast. The forward portion of the shroud is pivoted to permit adjustment to provide general alignment with the attenuation blast. A closure is provided for at least one of the openings through which dilution air is inspirated and a preheater uses waste heat to increase the temperature of the dilution air inspirated through another of the openings.

The present invention dramatically reduces the price of cooling tubes 24 suitable for use in the making of glass filaments by coating or cladding a relatively inexpensive base or substrate metal 48 such as copper or refractory metal such as nickel, Inconel or molybdenum, and alloys thereof with a high temperature corrosion resistant material 50 such as the noble metals, e.g., platinum, palladium, rhodium, iridium, gold, silver or alloys thereof. Fins 52 which may be attached to the cooling tubes 24 may be made either of a solid noble metal or may also be coated or clad in the same manner as the cooling tubes 24.

The package is designed to contain a plurality of cans with the carrier being carried by a handle formed in the top panel of the carrier. An improved tear-out dispensing feature is provided in the subject package which is formed on one side of the package and is designed to be torn out of a portion of the side panels and a portion of the end closure flaps and to be folded downwardly to expose an immediately adjacent can within the package whenever the package is filled. The package also contains retaining means formed on the package for retaining the cans in the package after the tear-out dispenser feature has been opened so that only one can at a time may be removed without the remaining cans rolling out of the package by being forced out by the weight of cans positioned above the lower level of cans.

摘要： A method is described for achieving full cure of a peroxide cured polyester resin in the presence of rubber, which method is based on the discovery that there is competition between the uncured resin and the rubber surface for the peroxide curing agent present adjacent to the rubber/resin interface. The method has several embodiments, including: (1) utilizing a low surface activity rubber, (2) deactivating the surface of a high surface activity rubber, (3) utilizing a peroxide material at the interface, (4) utilizing a material with which the rubber surface reacts preferentially, and (5) utilizing a "rapid cure" for the polyester. Also described is a laminate of rubber and polyester resin formed by this method.
