摘要： Provided are an apparatus for multi-stage transforming a plurality of unit blocks in multi-dimension that can improve compression efficiency of video data by collecting Discrete Cosine Transforming (DCT) coefficients of neighboring blocks and performing an additional transformation based on the DCT coefficients of an original picture and a differential picture. The method includes the steps of: performing a Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) on inputted picture data and selecting R blocks of a predetermined size from DCT picture data, where R is a natural number equal to or greater than 2; arranging DCT coefficients of each of the selected R blocks according to each frequency in one-dimension; and performing one-dimensional transformation again on the DCT coefficients arranged in one-dimension.

摘要： The present invention discloses an encoding apparatus using a Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) scanning, which includes: a mode selection means for selecting an optimal mode for intra prediction; an intra prediction means for performing intra prediction onto video inputted based on the mode selected in the mode selection means; a DCT and quantization means for performing DCT and quantization onto residual coefficients of a block outputted from the intra prediction means; and an entropy encoding means for performing entropy encoding onto DCT coefficients acquired from the DCT and quantization by using a scanning mode decided based on pixel similarity of the residual coefficients.

The restored data set is organized with at least one restored origin enveloped by a plurality of nested restored environs successively surrounding each other in the restored data set. The water ring decoding method includes the steps of decoding by writing the data string into the restored data set by starting at the RC group corresponding to the restored origin (restored water ring (0)) and by sequentially progressing outwardly from the family of RC groups corresponding to the nearest nested restored environ (restored water ring (1)) towards the family of RC groups corresponding to a furthest nested restored environ (restored water ring (n)).

摘要： The present invention relates to a method of systematically and synthetically accessing modality conversion that is an important part in the contents adaptive conversion process of a universal multimedia access system. The present invention provides an effective method of solving a problem, which is incurred at the time of modality conversion and still remains as one of difficult problems incurred during adaptive contents conversion. For this purpose, the present invention includes overlapped contents modeling newly proposed to determine modality conversion, a method of flexibly and clearly expressing and applying user preference for the modality conversion, and a resource allocation method of distributing resources among complicated contents based on the user preference. As a result, the integration of the above three methods provides a synthetic solution, particularly, to a problem incurred in the modality conversion and, generally, to a problem incurred in the adaptive conversion of contents.

摘要： A method of and apparatus for encoding and decoding a signal by illumination change compensated motion estimation are provided. The apparatus for encoding a signal by illumination change compensated motion estimation includes: an illumination change compensation unit performing compensation for an illumination change by performing a differential calculation between each pixel value of a current block and the means pixel value of a reference block indicated by a motion vector of the current block and the mean pixel value of the reference block; a residual signals generation unit generating residual signals based on the blocks in which illumination change compensation is performed; and an illumination changed amount prediction unit performing differential pulse code modulation (DPCM) based on the illumination change amount prediction value by reflecting the closeness between neighboring blocks in which illumination change occurs.
