摘要： According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a photoconductive member, an intermediate transfer belt, a transfer and fixing belt, a fixing and pressing roller, and a heating device. The heating device heats a toner image on the transfer and fixing belt between a first toner image transfer position for transfer from the intermediate transfer belt onto the transfer and fixing belt and a second toner image transfer position for transfer from the transfer and fixing belt onto a sheet in a moving direction of a belt surface of the transfer and fixing belt and, at the same time, heats the sheet conveyed to the second toner image transfer position.

A cleaner unit of an image forming apparatus of the invention includes a cleaning member that is brought into contact with a toner bearing body in order to collect toner from the toner bearing body bearing the toner, a toner removal member to remove the toner from the cleaning member, and a waste toner storage part to store the removed toner, the cleaning member, the toner removal member and the waste toner storage part are integrally constructed into a unit structure, and the unit is constructed to be attachable to and detachable from the toner bearing body or a main body of the image forming apparatus.

摘要： An image forming apparatus that forms an image using a photoconductor body includes a switching unit which effects switching between a state in which a cleaner is operated for the photoconductor body, and a state in which the cleaner is not operated for the photoconductor body. A control unit is provided which controls a setting change of an image formation condition between a case where the cleaner is operated by the switching unit, and a case where the cleaner is not operated by the switching unit. The switching unit includes a detection unit which detects the kind of paper on which an image is formed, and the switching unit switches on/off the cleaner in accordance with a detection result of the detection unit.

Each image forming unit includes a photoreceptor 103a, 103b, 103c, or 103d, a charger 105a, 105b, 105c, or 105d, an exposure apparatus 106a, 106b, 106c, or 106d, and a developing apparatus 109a, 109b, 109c, or 109d. When exposure intensities Iy, Ic, Im, and Ik are assumed for exposure sources of the exposure apparatuses in the image forming units which form yellow, magenta, cyan, and black images, respectively, the exposure intensities are configured to satisfy conditions of Ik≧Ic≧Im≧Iy and Ik>Iy. This decreases an exposure error (image hysteresis) in an image formed on paper.
