摘要： A synthetic non-styrene-butadiene rubber gum base is provided which has non-stick properties, retains its softness over extended periods of time even without the presence of antioxidants and improves or extends sweetness and flavor when used in either sugar or sugarless chewing gums and contains polyisobutylene and a mixture of polyvinyl acetate, triacetin and glyceryl monostearate as film forming-plasticizing agents together with polyterpene, polyethylene, wax, glyceryl monostearate, fatty acid esters and filler. A chewing gum containing this gum base and method for preparing same are also provided.

摘要： A chewing gum delivery system has nicotine, gum base and a buffer system with an improved release rate for the nicotine. The resulting delivery system advantageously provides a convenient, reliable, practical, and relatively painless system for delivering an active. The delivery system is capable of delivering initial and second doses of a craving reduction active or other actives (e.g., nicotine), the combination of which rapidly reduces cravings, or provides some other pharmacological effect, and provides the pharmacological effect or protection from such cravings over a prolonged period of time beyond the initial dose. Notably, the delivery system is capable of rapidly achieving a pharmacologically effective concentration of the active (e.g., nicotine) in the bloodstream (e.g., within 5 minutes, or more desirably within 3 minutes, or in some cases, within 1-2 minutes), and is also capable of keeping the concentration of the active in the bloodstream at or near the pharmacologically effective concentration for at least 20 minutes after chewing of the delivery system begins, or more desirably about 30 minutes to about 50 minutes after chewing begins.

摘要： The present invention pertains to a confectionery coated chewing gum composition having a center portion and a confectionery coating over the center portion wherein the center portion comprises a reduced-calorie gum base which comprises in percentages by weight of the gum base (a) an elastomer present in an amount from about 0.5% to about 20%, (b) a medium molecular weight polyvinyl acetate polymer having a molecular weight from about 35,000 to about 55,000 present in an amount from about 10% to about 25%, (c) an acetylated monoglyceride present in an amount from about 4.5% to about 10%, (d) a wax having a melting point below about 60.degree. C. present in an amount from about 6% to about 10%, and (e) a component selected from the group consisting of elastomer solvents, emulsifiers, plasticizers, fillers, and mixtures thereof, present in an amount to bring the total amount of gum base to 100%. The confectionery coated chewing gum compositions may be used with a wide variety of confectionery coatings. The present invention also pertains to methods for preparing the confectionery coated chewing gum compositions.
