摘要： The present invention comprises systems and methods for preventing collisions between aircraft and ground vehicles. In one embodiment, a system includes a proximity detection unit and a transducer proximate to a selected structural portion of an aircraft, the proximity detection unit being operable to emit ranging signals through the transducer and to receive reflected signals through the transducer to determine the position of an object within a ranging area adjacent to the structural portion. The system further includes an alarm device coupled to the proximity detection unit that is responsive to a signal generated by the proximity detection unit. In another embodiment, a method includes determining a distance between the ground service vehicle and a selected structural portion of the aircraft when the vehicle is positioned in a ranging area about the aircraft. The method further includes generating a proximity alarm based upon the distance.

A second layer of dielectric material may be attached to the first layer of dielectric material with the pair of electrically conductive traces disposed between the first and second layers of dielectric material. A transducer may be attached to the second layer of dielectric material and each second contact pad may be electrically connected to the transducer.

The tapering minimizes stress concentrations when the connector pad is bonded into, or on the surface of a structure. The connector pad consists of a plurality of structural load carrying plies suitable for sandwiching a flat structurally integrated wiring array therebetween. A plurality of plated through holes formed in the connector pad enable access to the wiring array therein.

摘要： An open top solution supply or recovery tank that is removably mounted on a carpet extractor or wet pickup vacuum cleaner and has a lid that is removably mounted to and seals the top of the tank. A generally U-shaped carry handle is pivotally attached to opposite sides of the tank for carrying the tank. The ends of the carry handle have lid latching member extending therefrom that engage lid retaining members extending from opposite sides of the lid, to securely latch the lid on the tank at least when the carry handle is in a latched position. Tank latch arms are also provided that securely latch the tank to the cleaner when the carry handle is in the latched position. The tank latch arms are pivotally connected to the ends of the handle. Key pins extending from opposite sides of the tank are received in key ways in the latch arms. The key pins control the motion of the latch arms and ensure that the latch arms latch the tank to the cleaner when the handle is pivoted to the latched position.

Bacteria that express the pathway for metabolizing phenylacetate through a mandelate intermediate can be isolated reproducibly by first selecting bacteria that can utilize both L-phenylalanine and mandelate as the sole carbon source and then blocking alternate pathways for the degradation of L-phenylalanine. The activity of selected enzymes along the mandelate-to-cis,cis-muconate pathway can be blocked in these bacteria to effect the accumulation of selected intermediates.
