    • A clutch drum has a drum main body made of a metallic plate which is formed into a cup shape by drawing. Spline teeth for engaging with clutch plates are formed by pressing on a periphery of the drum main body. Pulsing teeth for detecting a rotational speed are formed by pressing on the periphery of the drum main body. An apparatus for manufacturing the clutch drum has a forming die onto which the drum main body is externally set in position. The forming die has formed thereon first tooth spaces corresponding to the spline teeth and second tooth spaces corresponding to the pulsing teeth. First tooth-shaped punches are provided so as to be movable radially back forth to form by pressing the spline teeth by urging the periphery of the drum main body into the first tooth spaces. Second tooth-shaped punches are provided so as to be movable also radially back and forth integrally with the first tooth-shaped punches to form by pressing the pulsing teeth by urging the periphery of the drum main body into the second tooth spaces.

    • A laser diode driving circuit is provided with a constant current source, a first series circuit connected to the constant current source and including a first switching device and a laser diode, and a second series circuit connected so as to constitute a differential circuit in cooperation with the first series circuit and including a second switching device and an impedance device. The laser diode device is driven by turning on and off the second switching device. As the impedance device, a device is used which causes an impedance of the first series circuit obtained when the first switching device is ON and an impedance of the second series circuit obtained when the second switching device is ON to be substantially the same.

    • An optical pick-up is arranged to detect information recorded on an optical disk by causing laser light projected onto and reflected from a signal surface of the optical disk disposed within an optical system and the laser light is received by a light receiving element provided in the optical system. The optical pick-up is mounted with a laser diode unit which includes a metallic substrate, a laser diode, a photo-diode, a current feeding lead portion to the laser diode and a current output lead portion which forms the photo-diode, respectively disposed at one side face in the direction of thickness of the metallic substrate for emitting the laser light. The laser diode unit is positioned and fixed at a predetermined position of the optical system through a mounting member. The mounting of the laser diode unit includes setting the other side face in the direction of thickness of the substrate and the mounting member in a desired positional relation for contact with each other as a result, a plurality of contact places therebetween may be simultaneously welded by laser light for combining the laser diode unit and the optical pick-up into one unit.
