    • A data processing method of recording data on a recording medium mounted on an information recording apparatus. The data processing method includes the steps of dividing, in a disk controller, parallel data constituted by p bits transferred from a high-rank device into data each having q bits, where p and q are numbers; transferring the data each having q bits from the disk controller to an encoder as parallel data constituted by q bits; encoding, in the encoder, the data each having q bits to generate recording signals corresponding to data to be recorded; and recording the recording signals on the recording medium, thereby recording the data to be recorded on the recording medium. The data processing method may further include the steps of reproducing, from the recording medium, the recording signals recorded on the recording medium; decoding, in a decoder, the reproduced recorded signals to generate data each having p bits; transferring the data each having p bits from the decoder to the disk controller as parallel data constituted by p bits; and converting, in the disk controller, the data each having p bits into parallel data constituted by m bits to be transferred to the high-rank device, where m is a number.

    • A disk control unit for writing data on or reading the same from a disk in a disk apparatus in response to an instruction from a host computer. The disk control unit has a plurality of command buffers for storing a group of operation information and operation length information corresponding to individual fields in the disk format of the disk apparatus. Prior to processing the length information is set in a counter and then is counted decrementally with progress of the processing steps, whereby an operation end signal is produced to control an address generator for the command buffers. The disk control unit also has a pointer register for storing a jump point address in response to indication of the operation information and outputting the stored address in response to indication of the other operation information to change the address of the address generator. The disk control unit further has a plurality of ID field registers for indiscriminately storing the ID field registers forindiscriminately storing the ID field address marks and the ID information in the disk format of the disk apparatus.

    • An EGR valve control system includes a motor 5 exercising the opening and closing control of an EGR valve; a sensor 6 detecting the actual opening position of the EGR valve; and a motor control apparatus (control arithmetic section 1) computing a drive duty of the motor 5 based on a target opening position of the EGR valve and the actual opening position thereof detected by the sensor 6; and the control apparatus is arranged such that the control arithmetic section 1, when a target opening position of the EGR valve is set, computes an integral term based on the deviation between the target opening position and the actual opening position of the EGR valve, a proportional term and a differential term based on the change of the actual opening position of the EGR valve, and a feedforward term based on the change of the target opening position, respectively, and the control arithmetic section further exercises the opening and closing control of the EGR valve by computing the drive duty of the motor 5 by performing addition and subtraction on the computed integral term, proportional term, differential term, and feedforward term.

In this way, the frictional properties can be stabilized when connection of the clutch is in transition, and the phenomenon of drag due to oil viscosity resistance can be suppressed when the clutch is in an off state.
