    • A fuel injector for an internal combustion engine includes a solenoid coil which is actuable by an electrical line, a valve sleeve which forms an outer coat of the fuel injector in a discharge-side region, and a valve housing. The fuel injector further includes a plastic sleeve, which houses the solenoid coil and the electrical line. The plastic sleeve is slid over the valve sleeve in assembly. The plastic sleeve has two parts interconnected by a crosspiece, with a recess formed in a radial region adjacent to the region of the crosspiece.

    • A sensor is used to sense a property relating to each one of a plurality of different elevational locations within a vertical plane that is normal to a length of an aircraft. The vertical plane passes through the doorway of the aircraft, and at least some of the plurality of different elevational locations are disposed outside a known surface boundary of the aircraft. A variation in the sensed property between two elevational locations is detected, the variation indicative of an elevational position of the known surface boundary. An elevational position of the doorway of the aircraft is determined based upon a known relationship between the known surface boundary and the doorway, and based upon the indicated elevational position of the known surface boundary. The determined elevational position of the doorway is used to guide an aircraft engaging portion of the movable bridge into elevational alignment with the said doorway.

    • A fuel injector for directly injecting fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine includes a solenoid coil, an armature that can be acted upon by the solenoid coil in a stroke direction in opposition to a first resetting spring, and a valve needle connected to a valve-closure member. The valve needle has a first limit stop for the movable armature, the armature additionally being acted upon by a second resetting spring. A stationary second limit stop is provided for the armature. The second resetting spring acts upon the armature contrary to the stroke direction and, in the resting position, when the solenoid coil is not excited, the second resetting spring holds the armature in position at the second limit stop such that the armature is at a preestablished distance from the first limit stop configured on the valve needle.
