摘要： Art is infused with network identifiers at the time of its creation, rather than as a post-process. The identifiers may be encoded as overt elements of the art, and enable the artist to reprogram—over time—an augmentation of the artwork experience via network-delivered components. These network components can include stimuli present when the artist created the work (e.g., music), commentary by the artist, video and augmented reality features, audience-crowdsourced content (e.g., imagery of, or feedback provided by, other viewers encountering the artwork), etc. The artwork augmentation can vary with the user's context (e.g., location, demographics, interests, history). Physical brushes can be equipped to insert such identifiers in graphic arts; other authoring tools are disclosed as well. The network experience can be delivered via smartphones, projectors, and other devices. A great number of other features and arrangements are also detailed.

摘要： A perceptual model performs an analysis of a media signal, such as an image or audio signal. The model may be used in media signal processing applications such as digital watermarking and data compression to reduce perceptibility of changes made to code the signal. In one implementation, a method of reducing human perceptibility of visible artifacts attributable to embedding a digital watermark in a media signal is provided. The method determines a contrast measurement for local areas of the media signal; adjusts a contrast measurement for a local area if the contrast measurement is above a predetermined level; and embeds the digital watermark in the local areas in a manner determined at least in part by their respective contrast measurement.

摘要： The present invention relates to steganographically hiding images and information. In a preferred embodiment, an image is hidden within a media signal. The media preferably includes a cyan (C) color plane, a magenta (M) color plane, a yellow (Y) color plane and a black (K) color plane. In an alternative embodiment, the media includes a spot color. The image is converted into a black color channel image and is then applied to the media's K channel. The black channel image is inverted and the inverted image is applied to the media's CMY (or spot) color planes. The C, M and/or Y channels can be investigated to determine whether the image's signal level should be modified. In a related embodiment, the media signal is segmented into a plurality of blocks and the detection level of a first embedded block is determined to be sufficient before the embedding continues to a second block. In still another embodiment, visible spectrum detection of our out-of-phase digital watermark provides a clue as to whether a printing process needs calibration or is misaligned.
