摘要： A two-component adhesive, sealant, or coating composition containing (i) a first component containing a portion of an alkoxysilane-functional urethane and water; and (ii) a second component containing the remaining portion of the alkoxysilane-functional urethane and a catalyst. The alkoxysilane-functional urethane includes the reaction product of (a) the reaction product of a hydroxy functional compound and a polyisocyanate, that contains isocyanate groups; with (b) an amine functional aspartate. The composition is used in a method of bonding a first substrate to a second substrate. The method includes (a) combining component i) and component ii) to form a mixture, applying a coating of the mixture to at least one surface of the first substrate or the second substrate, and contacting a surface of the first substrate with a surface of the second substrate. The method is used make an assembly.

摘要： A curable, alkoxysilane-functional polyether urethane composition formed by combining a) a first silane terminated polyurethane prepared by reacting i) a mono-functional compounds with ii) an isocyanate component containing two isocyanate groups, the reaction product reacted with iii) a compound containing an isocyanate-reactive group and one or more reactive silane groups to form a moisture-curable, alkoxysilane-functional polyether urethane; and b) a second silane terminated polyurethane prepared by reacting i) an alkyl monofunctional alcohol, amine, and/or thiol, with ii) an isocyanate component containing two isocyanate groups, the reaction product reacted with iii) a compound containing an isocyanate-reactive group and one more reactive silane groups. The urethane composition can be used in coating, sealant and/or adhesive compositions. The coating compositions are used to form a coated substrate. The sealant and/or adhesive compositions are used in a method of joining a first adherend and a second adherend to form a bonded assembly.

摘要： Polyurethane/ureas including hydrophilic moieties and alkoxysilane groups of formula (I) —X—CO—NR2—Y—Si—(Z)3 (I) where X is O or NR2; R2 is H, C1-C6 alkyl, substituted C1-C6 alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or benzyl; Y is C1-C8 linear and branched alkylene; and Z is an organic group inert to isocyanate groups below 100° C. At least one Z group is an alkoxy group of 1 to 4 carbon atoms. The polyurethane/urea can be in an aqueous dispersion, which can be used to prepare coatings. The dispersion is prepared by (ii) reacting an organic polyisocyanate with a high molecular weight polyol, optionally a low molecular weight isocyanate-reactive compound, an isocyanate-reactive compound containing hydrophilic groups, and/or an amine chain extender forming a prepolymer; (ii) reacting the prepolymer in (i) with a compound of formula (II) OCN—Y—Si—(Z)3 (II) where Y and Z are as defined; and (iii) dispersing the reaction product in (II) in an aqueous medium.

The amount of component i), on an isocyanate equivalent basis, is equal to the amount of hydroxy equivalents of hydroxy containing materials in the composition. The composition can be used to coat substrates by coating at least a portion of the substrate with the above-described coating composition and subjecting the coated substrate to radiation.

The prepolymers are prepared by reacting: A) an isocyanate selected from the group consisting of i) an aliphatic and/or a cycloaliphatic isocyanate, ii) a mixture of an aromatic isocyanate and an aliphatic and/or a cycloaliphatic isocyanate, B) a di- or polyhydroxy compound having a number average molecular weight of from 700 to about 16,000, and C) optionally, a dihydroxy and/or polyhydroxyl compound having a number average molecular weight of less than 700, with the provisos that a) at least one of components A), B or C) has a functionality of more than 2 and b) if both component A) and component B) are difunctional, component C) cannot be a trihydroxy component of the formula: R—(OH)3 where R is a saturated straight chain or branched chain aliphatic group of from 2 to 8 carbon atoms.
