    • A method and apparatus are described for generating a display data stream for transmission to a remote display. A display control unit in a processor is configured to multiplex the outputs of a plurality of display controllers to generate a video data stream. A video compression engine (VCE) in the processor receives the video data stream directly from the display control unit without having to go through an external memory or an external display interface. The VCE compresses the video data stream, and optionally encrypts the video data stream. In one embodiment, audio and video data streams may be synchronized into a multiplexed, (and optionally encrypted), audio/video stream before being forwarded for transmission to a remote display. In another embodiment, separate audio and video streams (optionally encrypted) may be forwarded for transmission to the remote display.

    • Techniques are described for online real time text to image translation suitable for virtually any submitted query. Semantic classes and associated analogous items for each of the semantic classes are determined for the submitted query. One or more requests are formulated that are associated with analogous items. The requests are used to obtain web based images and associated surrounding text. The web based images are used to obtain associated near-duplicate images. The surrounding text of images is analyzed to create high-quality text associated with each semantic class of the submitted query. One or more query dependent classifiers are trained online in real time to remove noisy images. A scoring function is used to score the images. The images with the highest score are returned as a query response.

    • A map user interface control provides functionality for displaying a map in conjunction with the display of a Web page. The map control operates in combination with a location extraction component that analyzes the contents of the Web page to identify locations mentioned therein. Once the location extraction component has identified the locations mentioned in the Web page, a map is generated that encompasses the locations identified in the Web page. Once the map has been generated, the map control displays the map in conjunction with the display of the Web page. The map might include visual indicators corresponding to the locations mentioned in the Web page. The map might also include visual indicators corresponding to other locations near the locations identified in the Web page that have been identified using co-occurrence values generated through an analysis of a set of travelogues.

    • Disclosed herein are methods and compositions for targeted cleavage of a genomic sequence, targeted alteration of a genomic sequence, and targeted recombination between a genomic region and an exogenous polynucleotide homologous to the genomic region.The compositions include fusion proteins comprising a cleavage domain (or cleavage half-domain) and an engineered zinc finger domain, as well as polynucleotides encoding same. Fusion proteins comprising cleavage half-domains are used in pairs, to reconstitute a functional cleavage domain. In these fusion proteins, the zinc finger domain can be N-terminal to the cleavage half-domain, or the cleavage half-domain can be N-terminal to the zinc finger domain. The availability of fusion endonucleases having these different polarities allows targeting (and thereby binding) of zinc finger endonucleases either to opposite strands of the DNA target or to the same strand of the DNA target, thereby increasing the number of possible sequences which can be targeted and cleaved by the fusion proteins.
