    • Watermark encoders and decoders can be integrated into operating systems, Internet browsers, media players, and other applications and devices. Such integration enables the watermark-enabled application or device to provide additional functionality and information available via the watermark. The watermark, for example, may link to metadata or actions related to a media object. To exploit this watermark enabled functionality, the integrated application uses a watermark decoder to access the related metadata and actions. The user interface of the integrated application is enhanced to present metadata and actions linked via the watermark. Similarly, watermark encoders may be integrated into applications to convert media objects into enhanced, watermarked objects. A variety of other arrangements and features are also detailed. Many arrangements can be implemented using object identifiers other than watermarks.

    • Disclosed is a method of restoring a client device following failure of the client device, the client being connectable to a network comprising a server device. The method comprises saving to the server device a configuration state of the client device, the saved configuration state comprising client network interface configuration information, and a file of the client device. The method further comprises, following failure of the client computer, recording on a medium bootable on the client device program instructions for configuring the client device according to the saved configuration state, booting the client device from the bootable medium, configuring a network interface of the client device in accordance with the program instructions and the saved configuration state and restoring the file to the client device by copying over the network.

A constraint solver is provided to determine suitable values to use in the stimulus generation. The suitable values are random values within a range of allowed values.     • A circuit for a flat panel display includes an image data storage and processing block, a display and timing controller block, an image pixel matrix containing a multitude of row and column arranged pixel elements, one or more controlled row and column driver blocks, and a tagged multi line addressing (TMLA) pixel element display operation. That TMLA operation comprises a decomposition of image data by searching all lines of an image for groups of identical lines by tagging each of these lines with a unique code and thus decomposes image data into multi line and single line domain data in such a way, that lines with matching tags, indicating their common and identical contents, are outputted as image data into related groups of the multi line domain with no left over residual image data and thus the related groups in the single line domain data are all zeroes.
