    • Unified voltage generation techniques for efficiently generating a plurality of operational voltages for use within an electronic device, such as a memory system (e.g., memory product) providing data storage, are disclosed. A voltage generation circuit can generate a regulated base output voltage. The voltage generation circuit can include one or more voltage output circuits that produce different operational voltages from the regulated base output voltage. According to one aspect of the invention, the voltage output circuits can be disabled when the different operational voltages are at their appropriate voltage potentials, thereby reducing power consumption by the voltage output circuits. The voltage generation circuit is therefore able to operate with improved power efficiency.

    • Techniques for reliably and efficiently generating an output voltage for use within an electronic device, such as a memory system, are disclosed. A voltage generation circuit generates the output voltage. The voltage generation circuit includes regulation circuitry that controls regulation of the output voltage to maintain the output voltage at a substantially constant level. According to one aspect, regulation is provided through use of different feedback circuits. By selectively disabling one of the feedback circuits, power consumption can be reduced and the other of the feedback circuits can support the continued regulation of the output voltage. The voltage generation circuit is therefore able to operate in an accurate, stable and power efficient manner.

    • A high voltage device is connected in a voltage divider and couples a regulated voltage to a comparator for voltage regulation. The high voltage device is biased to conduct a current during regulator operation. When regulator operation is terminated, a switch in the voltage divider is opened to terminate current flow in the voltage divider. While the regulated output voltage can be coupled to the high voltage device when the switch is opened, the device node coupled to the comparator remains at a voltage level determined by the device bias voltage and the turn on voltage, VT, of the device, or V bias −VT, when the switch is opened. In one embodiment, the high voltage device comprises a field effect transistor having sufficient width to accommodate the voltage drop across the source and drain.

    • The present invention is directed to methods for coating monolayer films of surface-active polymers onto substrates of arbitrary shape. The present invention also provides molecular-based methods and processes that can be used to control the chemical and physical nature of surfaces and interfaces. The present invention is directed to methods for modifying functional groups in a homogenous way and controlling the spatial distributions of surface functional groups. The invention is directed to methods for modifying a substrate having a surface comprising coating a macromolecular surfactant comprising a modifiable functional group onto the surface of the substrate, wherein the modifiable functional group assembles to the air-coating interface, thereby modifying the surface of the substrate; wherein if the substrate comprises a first polymer and the macromolecular surfactant comprises a second polymer having a modifiable functional group, then the group is not modifiable by an acid to functionally modify the surface of the substrate. The invention is directed to devices made by these methods.
