    • A light emitting display device for controlling brightness according to peripheral light brightness and emission amount of a display region. The light emitting display device includes a display region including a pixel adapted to emit light in response to data, scan, and emission control signals, a controller for controlling brightness of the display region, a scan driver for supplying the scan signal and controlling a signal width of the emission control signal according to a signal from the controller, a data driver for transmitting the data signal corresponding to video data, the data signal being corrected using a gamma correcting signal from the controller, and a power source supply unit for supplying power to the display region. The controller outputs the gamma correcting signal corresponding to peripheral light and controls an amount of current supplied to the display region according to a sum of the video data in one frame.

    • An organic light emitting display device is provided. The device includes a photo sensor adapted to: sense a brightness of ambient light; output a pulse width of an emission control signal corresponding to a sensed brightness of the ambient light; and output a gamma compensation coefficient corresponding to the sensed brightness of the ambient light and a user selected brightness. The device also includes a gamma compensation circuit adapted to adjust a magnitude of a voltage between a plurality of gradation voltages according to the output gamma compensation coefficient. The device also includes a scan driver and a data driver. The device also includes a pixel portion including a pixel adapted to: emit light according to the data signal, the scan signal, and the emission control signal; and display an image corresponding to the user selected brightness.

    • A frame memory control method that reads out video data from a frame memory at a reading speed twice as fast as a writing speed, and a sequential driving type display using the same. The method includes: storing (or writing in) video data corresponding to one frame in the frame memory in sequence; reading out the video data of a first group including one of the video data selected from odd numbered video data and even numbered video data stored in the frame memory at or after a half point of a period for storing the video data corresponding to one frame; reading out the video data of a second group including another one of the video data selected from the odd numbered video data and the even numbered video stored in the frame memory after reading out the video data of the first group; and transmitting the video data of the first group and the video data of the second group to a transistor to drive at least two light emitting devices in sequence.
