    • A combinatorial weighing or counting method of the type in which weight data items from a plurality of weighing machines are combined to find an optimum combination giving a total combined value equal or closest to a target value within preset allowable limits, and the weighed articles are discharged from the weighing machines constituting the optimum combination. Apparatus for practicing the method includes a first storage device provided individually for each of the weighing machines. The method includes the steps of clearing the status of the first storage device corresponding to those weighing machines that participate in the optimum combination and updating by a predetermined quantity the status of the first storage device corresponding to those weighing machines that do not participate in the optimum combination. The clearing and updating are carried out each time an optimum combination is found, and it is discriminated whether the status of each of the first storage devices exceeds a preset value. Then, from combinations including at least one weighing machine corresponding to whichever of the first storage devices has a status which exceeds the preset value, a combination is selected which has a total combined value closest to the target value within the preset allowable limits. Finally, the weighed articles are discharged from the weighing machines participating in the combination.

    • A device for continuous, gravimetric metering and pneumatic conveying of pourable material provides that a material stream is conveyed over a measuring path while charging a load measuring device and the product of moment load and conveying speed is formed. The conveyor is in the form of a rotor having an essentially vertical axis and conveyor pockets in the form of chambers or cells which are moved with the rotor in a circular orbit over the measuring path. A housing surrounds the rotor in a pressure tight manner and includes a charging aperture and an emptying aperture which are rotationally displaced from one another. A load measuring device is connected to the housing and a tachometer is provided for measuring the angular velocity of the rotor. A pneumatic conveying system is provided which has feed lines respectively communicating with an air feed aperture in the housing and the emptying aperture.

    • A combinatorial weighing apparatus includes a circuit for presetting at least one weighing machine which discharges articles for rough charging or selecting at least one weighing machine which discharges articles for rough charging according to a prescribed rule, a combinatorial computing device for computing, as a rough charging weight value, a total weight of articles discharged from preset or selected weighing machines and for selecting a combination of weighing machines which gives a total weight combination equal or closest to a corrective charging weight value which is the difference between a target weight value and the rough charging weight value. The combinatorial weighing apparatus further includes a discharge control means for discharging the rough charging articles from the preset or selected weighing machines at a prescribed timing and for discharging articles for corrective charging from the selected combination of weighing machines at another timing. Rough and corrective charging chutes are provided for collectively discharging rough and corrective charging articles into respective locations. Rough and corrective charging weight data are provided in a single cycle of supplying articles into weighing machines and weighing the articles therein. The rough and corrective chutes are actuatable in coaction with a device for supplying a plurality of containers to a first position in which articles providing the rough charging weight value are charged from the rough charging chute into the containers and articles providing the corrective charging weight value are charged from the corrective charging chute into containers in a second position.

    • A device for smoothly charging weighed out articles from an automatic weighing apparatus into a container formed of a plurality of contiguous vessels or container sections. The charging device comprises a shutter plate mounted in close proximity to the upper surface of the container, a timing hopper having the shutter plate as a bottom and defining storage compartments in positions corresponding to respective ones of the container sections, and an allocation unit mounted between the timing hopper and a discharge opening of the automatic weighing apparatus. The allocation unit is operative to allocate the articles to respective ones of the storage compartments of the timing hopper once for each weighing operation performed by the automatic weighing apparatus. The shutter plate is opened upon termination of discharge of the articles into each of the storage compartments for introducing the articles into container sections associated with respective ones of the storage compartments.
