    • An automatic supplying apparatus for powder or particle materials which repeatedly transfers the material laterally in fixed quantities from a position directly below a hopper to a working table. The apparatus comprises a measuring transfer table having through holes of a predetermined configuration and capable of reciprocating along a track, and a gate moving integrally with the measuring transfer means to close the bottom of the through holes when the measuring transfer table proceeds towards the working table, and returning to the original position when it reaches a predetermined position on the working table, leaving the measuring transfer table behind and causing the bottom of the through holes to open at a predetermined position on the working table.

    • A feeder for particulate solid material uses a metering rotor for continuously metering the feed rate. A continuous groove around the rotor is formed between axially spaced lands, and the rotor is oriented for rotating around a horizontal axis. The material is continuously dropped onto an upper region of the rotor at a rate substantially greater than the metering rate of the feeder for continuously overfilling the groove with material. A scraper extends over the groove between the lands in the upper region for scraping away excess material to give the material remaining in the groove a predetermined and continuous shape as the rotor turns. An output conveyor continuously receives material falling from the groove as the material turns with the rotor past the upper region.

    • A dispensing and measuring device for dry particulate matter includes a container having a downwardly discharging outlet therein and a guideway port extending transversely therethrough beneath the outlet. A measuring scoop having a tapered forward end is adapted for insertion into the guideway port so as to be positioned immediately beneath the discharge outlet. A spring-biased closure plate disposed within the guideway port immediately beneath the outlet is guided by a slide member between guide rails longitudinally on either side of the outlet so that the closure plate is movable longitudinally of the guideway port to open and close the outlet, return springs being connected to the closure plate to maintain the closure plate in a normally closed position beneath the outlet. A V-shaped shoulder member projects downwardly from the underside of the closure plate into the path of travel of the tapered forward end of the measuring scoop to cause the closure plate to move away from the outlet to permit discharge of the contents of the container into the measuring scoop. As the measuring scoop is removed from the guideway port, the return springs cause the closure plate to return to its closed position beneath the outlet thereby closing the outlet.

    • A measuring dispenser for flowable material comprises a hopper and a rotatable barrel member for transferring measured quantities of the material from the hopper to a receptacle. The barrel member has a plurality of angularly spaced recesses of predetermined volumetric capacities. By rotation of the barrel member in one direction through a selected angle, selected recesses are filled from the hopper in sequence, the material being retained in the filled recesses during such rotation. By subsequent rotation of the barrel member in the opposite direction through the same selected angle and an additional predetermined angle, the filled recesses are sequentially emptied into the receptacle.

    • A rotary feeder has a valvular rotor rotating on an axis in a cylindrical cavity. A plurality of rigid, free-floating blades project from a hub of the rotor to delimit several material-receiving pockets circumferentially distributed over the hub. The inner edges of the blades rest in axial recesses in the hub and are supported by fixed projections extending outwardly from the hub along the trailing side of the blades. The recesses permit limited angular movement of the blades relative to the hub. The blades have widths from the hub to the periphery of the cylindrical cavity greater than corresponding radii through the inner edges of the blades at the hub, whereby the blades are angularly inclined relative to such radii. Top portions of the blades are applied to peripheral wall portions of the cylindrical cavity. The recesses, the fixed projections, and peripheral wall portions of the cylindrical cavity cooperate to hold the blades in position. The fixed projections carry means for urging the blades toward the corresponding radii. The blades are biased or periodically adjusted angularly toward the mentioned corresponding radii during wear of the outer portions and the peripheral wall portions to maintain worn top portions of the blades applied to the peripheral wall portions of the cylindrical cavity.

    • A dishwashing apparatus having a dispenser operable at a preselected time in the dishwashing cycle for dispensing a treating liquid such as a rinse additive. The dispenser is arranged so as to measure in a measuring cup a preselected quantity of additives as an incident of moving the dishwasher door between opened and closed positions and to dispense the preselected quantity at the proper time in the wash cycle. The measuring cup for the additive is pivotally mounted within the dispenser and is pivoted from a position submerged in the liquid additive when the dishwasher door is opened in the horizontal plane, and above the liquid additive level when the dishwasher door is closed in the vertical plane, to a position so as to discharge the liquid by gravity into a discharge conduit. The discharge conduit additive receiving opening is located above the level of the liquid additive at all door positions and conveys the liquid additive by gravity into the washing chamber. The pivoting of the measuring cup is effected at the desired preselected time in the dishwashing cycle.
