    • The invention concerns a rail crossing device designed for crossing a first rail embedded in a road surface with a guide rail, embedded in the road surface. It comprises at least one extensible portion provided in the guide rail and at least one mechanism designed for lengthwise extension and contraction of the extensible portion. This mechanism is designed to extend and contract the extensible portion in a lengthwise direction, defining a contracted position in which one end of the guide rail is separated from the first rail to allow a vehicle or any other movable device to travel along this rail, and an extended position in which said end of the guide rail is moved towards the first rail in order to guide a vehicle onto the guide rail.

    • A crossing panel includes a pair of intersecting rails, a pair of crossing line rails, a plurality of railroad ties supporting the crossing line rails such that the crossing line rails are angled upwardly from a base elevation toward the respective main line rail and terminating such that a tread bearing surface of each crossing line rail at its terminal end is at a height above the crown of the intersecting line rail, an external frog casting being aligned with and secured to the terminal ends of the crossing line rails and having an external frog tread bearing surface substantially above the crown of an intersecting line rail, and transitional guide castings disposed between the intersecting rails and respectively aligned with the crossing line rails. The transitional guide castings are substantially horizontal, and each has a crown maintained at a height sufficient to maintain a railcar wheel of a train wheel set above the intersecting line rails.

    • The present invention provides a pleasant illuminated anti-trip cable duct for use in protecting wires that cross pathways. The illuminated anti-trip cable duct may also be used to illuminate raceways or paths, such as aisles in auditoriums or churches. The anti-trip cable duct incorporates an integrated light transmission window and electroluminescent wire. Installation is straightforward and very similar to installation of standard, non-illuminated cable duct. Unlike rope or string lighting, which may not be arbitrarily cut, the present invention may be cut to any arbitrary length at the job site, provided that a minimum length is used. Lengths of the present invention may be cascaded together, enabling long illumination runs. The present invention may be provided in rolled lengths, adding to ease in shipping, warehousing, and job site installation. Little additional skills are required for installation, making the present invention an attractive alternative to typical non-illuminated anti-trip duct.

    • A railroad grade crossing is provided with elastomeric decking pads presenting an upper, vehicular crossway substantially coplanar with the tops of the metallic rails, in turn, secured to the spaced cross ties therebeneath which rest on the roadbed of the roadway. Deck-supporting grillage structure, supported by the cross ties includes a series of spaced cross beams of metallic material arranged to preclude the transmission of electrical currents across the rails. The grill is also provided with spaced, non-metallic, longitudinal beams between the I-shaped cross beams and the deck. The longitudinal beams, to which the deck is attached, rest on the cross ties and are tied to the cross beams. Because of the unique suspension principle which the crossing employs, no drilling of holes in the cross ties is required, nor is any type of fastening to the cross ties required.
