摘要： A sewing apparatus for applying a stitch of thread to a piece of fabric is provided. The apparatus housing includes a platform for supporting a piece of fabric, and contains a grasping member that is moved to grasp and release a thread segment fed through the housing by a needle holder. The needle holder is positioned to hold a needle that has a needle aperture for pass-through, therethrough of the thread segment, and is movable between a withdrawn position, and an advanced position in which the needle holder drives the needle through the piece of fabric to bring the thread segment into position for grasping by the grasping member. The sewing apparatus also including a needle holder driver for driving the movement of the needle holder and a thread puller for pulling the thread segment to an exterior of the housing for a user to cut.

摘要： A sewing-thread pre-stress device for a sewing machine includes: a sewing-thread support, a pre-stress supply member, an abutting member and a top cover. The sewing-thread support includes an accommodating groove with a groove bottom. The pre-stress supply member is made of elastic material, provided in the accommodating groove, and has a folding portion which has two extension portions with one end connected to two sides of the folding portion. The abutting member is disposed on the pre-stress supply member, and the two abutting portions abut against the abutting member. The top cover is disposed on the abutting member and fixed to the sewing-thread support to define a thread space between the top cover and the abutting member for allowing a sewing thread to be inserted therethrough. The member is elastic and V-shaped, therefore the elastic force change is relatively small, which can provide the sewing thread an appropriate tension.

A quilting machine includes a cutting edge, a looper from which thread is provided to form stitches, and an adjuster assembly that includes a plurality of selectable positions. The adjuster assembly extends an adjuster toward the thread between the looper and the retainer. When the adjuster is moved, a predetermined amount of thread is pulled away from the looper by the adjuster to provide a controlled length of thread between the looper and the cutting edge. The adjuster is configured to be moved to an intermediate selectable position prior to starting a quilting pattern, and from the intermediate position to another selectable position subsequent to starting the quilting pattern.
