    • An eyeglass construction is described and comprises a lens, a pair of lens engaging members, a pair of hinge members, and a pair of temple pieces. The hinge members are adapted to slidably engage the lens engaging members and to be connected therewith for pivotal movement about a horizontal axis. The pair of temple pieces each have a portion adapted to engage a hinge member and to be connected therewith for pivotal movement about a substantially vertical axis. The lens engaging member and the hinge member have cooperating angular positioning elements so that the members may be adjusted relative to one another to enable the lens to adopt various angular position relative to the temple pieces.

    • The invention is directed to a temple for an eyeglass frame, the temple including (a) a downwardly inclined temple end portion which is securely supportable behind the ear at the side head of one who wears the eyeglasses, and (b) a ball tip attached to the rear end of the inclined temple end portion by a spring. The inclined temple end portion terminates at substantially the bottom of a concave portion in a curvature of the behind-the-end region and is shaped to substantially fit along a curvature of the behind-the-ear region. The spring extends in the direction of inclination of the inclined temple end portion and is a wire or plate spring having high resilience. The ball tip is in a position wherein it contacts the wearers side head at a rear half region of a concave portion in the curvature of the behind-the-ear region.

    • A structure for eyeglass frames which incorporates an improved frontal support assembly and adjustable temples. Left and right ocular frames are interconnected, each being laterally supported by an adjustable temple assembly. To support the eyeglass frames on the user, a pair of upper frontal spacers extend rearwardly from the member interconnecting the ocular frames. The upper frontal spacers are adapted to be placed adjacent the user's brow precluding contact with the nose of the user. Lower frame spacers depend rearwardly from the lower extent of each of the ocular frames and are adapted to be placed adjacent the cheekbones of the user. The upper frontal supports and lower frame supports insure the ocular frames are appropriately spaced from the user's eye while simultaneously preventing the eyeglass frames from slipping or otherwise being inadvertently displaced.

    • A safety spectacle providing front and lateral impact protection. The spectacle includes a frame, a removable lens incorporating integrated upper and lower side shields connected to the frame by means of a nose bridge, and a pair of length and pantoscopic adjustable temples arm assemblies hingedly connected to the sides of the frames. The temple arm assemblies are adjustable lengthwise by earpieces which can be locked and unlocked into slots on an intermediate arm receptacle by means of a quarter turn barrel configuration. The temples are adjustable pantoscopically by means of a pair of semicircular arms, both of which are hinged at the front to the side of the frame between a pair of outward sloping walls and inserted at the rear into a threaded ferrule. One arm is threaded inside the ferrule and allowed to move in and out when the ferrule is rotated while the mating semicircular arm is stationary, thereby varying the angle of the temple within the sloped walls and thus the frame.
