    • The present invention provides a glass scriber assembly having a base, a support attached to the base and wherein the support includes an upper surface adapted to support a pane of glass. An elongated arm is pivotally mounted to the base so that one end of the arm is positioned over the support surface. A conventional glass scriber is detachably secured to the end of the arm so that the scriber engages a pane of glass on the support surface. Simultaneously, a compression spring in between the other end of the arm and the base urges the scriber against the glass pane. A roller is rotatably mounted to the support and abuts against the bottom of the glass pane on the support surface so that, upon manually rotating the roller, the roller moves the glass pane under the glass scriber.

    • A hand tool for cutting or scoring glass in which an elongated rigid finger piece is provided with an elongated handle secured at one end and a glass scoring member at its opposite end. The finger piece is of somewhat triangular cross section with a flattened top portion and inwardly curved side portions. A cross bar on the finger piece between the handle end of the finger piece and the handle extends outwardly on each side of the finger piece. In use the handle is slipped between the index and middle fingers of the user until the cross bar bears against the palm and the index and middle fingers bear against the top of the finger piece. The finger piece is then grasped between the user's thumb and ring fingers within the inwardly curved side portions.

    • An Apparatus for producing leaded glass articles by cutting a sheet of glass to desired shapes and joining the cut shapes with lead came cut to the desired length. The sheet glass and lead came cutting apparatus includes a light box for placement of glass to be cut, a cutting device formed by a horizontally traversing multi-pivoting arm assembly for cutting the glass, and pliers-like nippers having flat angled cutting jaws for cutting lead came. A pattern representing the desired glass shape is prepared and affixed to a piece of sheet glass which is then placed upon the upper surface of the light box. The desired shape of glass, as represented by the outline of the pattern, is then cut by positioning the horizontally traversing multi-pivoting arm assembly over the surface of the light box, upon which rests the sheet glass. The cutting means is placed in contact with the sheet glass and is moved over the surface of the sheet glass along the outline of the pattern. Cut glass shapes are joined by pieces of lead came which are cut to appropriate lengths by the pliers-like nippers. A variety of intricate shapes may be cut and joined by utilizing the sheet glass and lead came cutting apparatus.

    • To precisely scratch a sheet of glass and then tap it to sever it into two separate pieces of glass while maintaining perpendicularity of the glass cutter handle to the glass surface, without twisting the wrist or arm while applying downward pressure, the rigid handle of this glass cutter approximately midway between the cutting wheel and the upper servering hammer portion is provided with a rigid widened portion through which the user's index finger is inserted during the application by it of downward pressure for scratching the glass. This apertured rigid widened portion is then grasped by the fingers to assist and precisely guide the cutter handle while tapping the scratched glass with the hammer head to separate the glass portions on opposite sides of the scratch.

    • An apparatus having utility in microtomy comprising a device for placing a score line on the top surface of a piece of glass plate, and subsequently breaking that glass along a curvilinear plane which encompasses the score line--to produce a Ralph-type knife. The scoring device includes an arm which is movable along an excursion path in a plane which is parallel to the top surface of the glass. A cam-like adjustment is provided to insure that the arm can travel parallel to the glass's top surface. An ancillary device comprises a pair of spaced clamps which are on either side of a rigid fulcrum, such as a piece of drill rod. An index mark (which is preferably movable) is positioned parallel to the fulcrum, and the glass is manually positioned so that the score line is directly over the index mark. Thumbscrews are provided in the top of each clamp to apply sufficient pressure to the glass so as to cause it to fracture in a controlled manner, thereby producing a Ralph-type microtome knife--which may have a cutting length on the order of 2.5 cm long. Preferably, the glass-scoring device and the glass-breaking device share a common base, so as to contribute to a compact, lightweight, and convenient apparatus.

    • A holder for a glass cutter has a bent palm contacting member attachable to the handle of a glass cutter for steadying the cutter during use. Removably connecting the palm contacting member to the cutter handle is a tapered sleeve of rectangular cross section which cooperates with tapered legs provided on the palm contacting member for creating a wedging action securing the contacting member on the cutter handle. By placing the cutter handle between the forefinger and middle finger of a user's hand and fitting the contacting member snugly in the palm of the same hand, the operator is enabled to hold the cutter very steady while pressing on the cutter against glass to be cut.
