摘要： A device for facilitating the feed of strip material, particularly, a continuous length of labels which are to be cut away from the strip material and folded and packed into containers includes, a reel having a continuous winding of the strip material which is freely rotatably mounted. The strip material is guided through a guide element and over a table where it is advanced along a feed path by an oscillatable pusher finger which cyclically engages against the material and moves it along the feed path. The construction includes holding means located between the pusher and the reel supply for holding the label periodically in order to permit looping means to engage the label strip material, pull a length of it off the reel and form it into a loop between the holding means and the reel supply. The pulled off loop is subsequently fed by the pusher.

摘要： Apparatus and method for handling a plastic web during the manufacture thereof wherein after the web exits from a stretching station a slide is provided for diverting defective web material downward to a scrap handling area. When satisfactory material is thereafter produced the web may be automatically threaded into an accumulator assembly for take-up of the web so that the downstream end of the web may be stopped to permit the defective web material to be severed from the satisfactory web material. After being severed from the defective material the satisfactory material is spliced onto a web that has been previously threaded through to the finishing end of the apparatus where a wind-up roll is positioned for storage of the satisfactory web material. The accumulator assembly comprises first and second sets of rollers wherein the first set is stationary and the second set is movable and positionable below the path of the defective web portion. The second set is movable from its lower position where it is nestable in recesses formed in the slide to allow the defective web to pass thereover, to a raised position where it is above the first set. The movement of the second set of rollers between the rollers of the first set is utilized to thread the web in a serpentine path between the rollers of the accumulator assembly.

摘要： A device for eliminating marks in materials which are made in continuous lengths, such as paper which, during their manufacturing processes are suspended in loops from carriers travelling on a conveyor. The device includes a transporting mechanism comprising friction faced endless transporter belts operable independently of the conveyor which is arranged to temporarily lift the carriers from the conveyor into contact with a pressure-applying plate member positioned to exert pressure on the carriers. This pressure causes the carriers to rotate the material relative thereto so that folds or creases are prevented.
