    • A device for engaging an elongated support for restraining cargo in a container having a pair of opposed walls and configured to transfer to shear stress at least some of the tensile force applied by the elongated support. The device comprises a strip having a bottom strip surface with an adhesive for securing the device to one of the walls, and a top strip surface. The sleeve includes four walls extending from the top strip surface defining a cavity. The sleeve having a platform within the cavity surrounded by the four walls. The platform defines within the cavity another cavity for receiving the elongated support. The platform spaces an end of the elongated support from said one of the walls of the container.     • A tie-down winch system includes a tie-down winch and a winch bar member. The tie-down winch includes frame, a cylinder member rotatably carried by the frame, a first lock member connected to a second end of the cylinder member, and a second lock member pivotally connected to the frame adjacent the second end of the cylinder member and moveable between an engaged position and a disengaged position. The engaged position is defined as a portion of the second lock member engaging a portion of the first lock member to prevent rotation of the cylinder member, and the disengaged position is defined as the second lock member being spaced apart from the first lock member so that the cylinder member is freely rotatable with respect to the frame.

    • The cargo bar of the invention includes a telescoping rod composed of an outer tube and an inner tube. One end of a toothed rail is fastened on the inner tube and the other end thereof longitudinally extends along the outer tube so that the toothed rail can move with the inner tube. An iron assembly, which is composed of a housing and a U-shaped bracket, is fixed at one end of the outer tube. The U-shaped bracket accommodates the toothed rail and pivotally connects a handle. A plurality of cogs are formed on the pivotal end of the handle. When the handle is closed, the cogs engage with the toothed rail so as to jam the inner tube. That is, the total length formed by the two tubes stays fixed. When the handle is opened, the cogs disengage with the toothed rail so as to make the inner tube become adjustable.

By deploying a cargo transport system constructed from a fiberglass cargo loading grid with one or more cargo restraining latches, the movement of cargo within the trailer or bed of the truck can be more efficiently restrained, thereby minimizing inadvertent exposure of personnel to accidents associated with the movement of the cargo and damage to the cargo during transport. The cargo restraining latch is a spring-loaded, multi-fingered mechanism that is selectively and removably inserted into a portion of the cargo transport system, thereby restraining any undesired movement of the cargo. Additionally, certain embodiments of the cargo transport system comprise a plurality of hinged folding panels with handles, providing an apparatus that is portable and reconfigurable, allowing for maximum flexibility.
