摘要： A toilet seat cover is provided for preventing contact between the human buttocks and the toilet seat when the sheet is disposed and aligned with the toilet seat. A microbiocidal shield is created by the perspiration from the buttocks contacting a water-soluble oxidizing agent along with a water-soluble ene-diol compound dispersed as separate particles in the sheet. The water-soluble oxidizing agent and water-soluble ene-diol compound may be separately microencapsulated by a protective film. Capillary action of the fibers in the sheet provide for conducting free water released during reaction between the water-soluble oxidizing agent and the ene-diol compound throughout the toilet seat cover. Fibers of the sheet are adhesively bonded together within the adhesive that is soluble and dispersible in water to enable the toilet seat cover to be flushed down the toilet after use.

A particle comprises a continuous polyurea surface layer, and an interior portion comprising a polyurea matrix, said matrix having a fill material contained therein, said matrix forming a continuum extending from the surface layer into the interior of the particle. The particles can be prepared by a method comprising:(1) admixing fill material, an isocyanate, and a matrix-forming co-reactant to form a mixture,(2) emulsifying said mixture in an aqueous medium containing a non-reactive emulsifying agent to provide a dispersion of spheres, and(3) hydrolyzing a first portion of the isocyanate near the surface of said spheres to initiate formation of polyurea at the surface of said spheres as a thin, substantially continuous layer and in the interiors of the spheres as a continuum for some distance beneath the surface of the spheres, and reacting a second portion of the isocyanate within said spheres with said matrix-forming co-reactant to form additional matrix material in the interior of the spheres.

摘要： A fabric formed from fiber-like strands of hollow, transparent filaments which have been woven or otherwise joined together is disclosed. The hollow strands contain a liquid in which color-coded micromagnets are dispersed. The micromagnets are free to rotate within the filament, the fabric thereby being capable of changing colors, either selectively or totally, when an activating magnetic force causes the micromagnets therein to rotate. The fabric may incorporate, in place of color-coded micromagnets, other orientable bodies which are also capable of being oriented, as for example by an electromagnetic or electrostatic force field, to produce a visual display. Further, the fabric may comprise a material having one or more liquid filled veins, the liquid again containing color-coded micromagnets or orientable bodies dispersed therein.
