摘要： A system for providing an electronic program guide for both over the air channels and direct broadcast satellite channels includes a VCR (80) with an RF tuner. The RF signal carrying the over the air channels is connected to the RF input (64) of the DBS receiver (50), combined with an RF modulation on channel 3 (or 4) of the DBS channel tuned by the DBS receiver. The combined RF signal is sent to the RF tuner in the VCR, which tunes either channel 3 (or 4) for the DBS channel or the appropriate RF channel for a local over the air channel. The output of the RF tuner is output on the VCR's baseband video output (84) which is connected to a baseband video input (66) on the DBS receiver. This system provides a baseband video signal for both over the air and DBS channels.

摘要： A tuner block in which a modulator and an IF/demodulator circuit are integrally formed. The tuner block has a casing for accommodating a tuner, the IF/demodulator circuit and the modulator, and sixteen pins consecutively disposed at an outside of the casing. A number of the pins is reduced as compared with a conventional tuner block by supplying an electrical power to the modulator and the tuner through a common pin, dispensing with pins carrying unnecessary signals and pins which carry no signal and rearranging other pins. Potential for noise and interference between signals is reduced by maximizing displacements of connector pins which carry signals which are likely to interact. A switching arrangement provides for utilizing either a conventional tuner block or a tuner block according to the present invention on a circuit board.

The method of designing a tuner circuit has a buffer installed in an integrated circuit (IC) of small-current drive in a video output terminal, and includes an RF converting portion, a tuning portion and a demodulation portion, in which a video output signal of the buffer in IC is input to an input circuit for processing a signal without an external buffer for drive, and the amount of attenuation of a signal at high frequency due to small drive current is measured to improve a frequency characteristic of a video signal in the tuner circuit in proportion to the amount of attenuation. Thus, an additional buffer for drive is not required, so that the number of devices is reduced, to thereby lower the material costs.

摘要： An electronic still video camera has an electro-developing recording medium. As soon as an optical image is formed on the medium, the image is recorded and developed as a visible image therein. The developed image is electronically read as image data by a line sensor, and the read image data may be stored in an IC memory card, a floppy disk, a hard disk or the like. Optionally, the read image data may be transferred from the camera to an external device such as a computer, a TV monitor or the like. The developed image can be thermally erased from the medium by using an electric heater. When one of: the formation of the optical image on the medium is carried out; the reading of the image data from the developed image of the medium: and the erasing of the developed image from the medium is carried out, the remaining operations are enabled.

摘要： A recording apparatus includes a tuner which receives CATV signals and selects a TV signal therefrom. The selected TV signal is output via an output terminal to decoder in a cable box, for instance. An input terminal of the recording apparatus receives the decoder output. Both the selected TV signal and the input on from the input terminal are sent to a switching unit. The switching unit selects the input from the input terminal when input signals are present; otherwise the switching unit selects the select TV signal. The switching may be controlled manually or by a detection circuit. The detection circuit detects the presence of input signals at the input terminal. A recording unit records the output from the switching unit.
