摘要： Disclosed is a method and system for real time appending at least one electronic message in at least one video stream. The system includes a channel identification module, a signal processing module, a decision module and a message appending module. The channel identification module is configured to identify at least one channel broadcasting the at least one video stream comprising at least one video frame. The signal processing module is configured to perform signal processing analysis on the at least one video frame to detect a plurality of objects associated with at least one content. The decision module is configured to validate the presence of the at least one content by contextually correlating at least one object with at least one other object from the plurality of objects. The message appending module is then configured to append the at least one electronic message in the at least one video stream.

The system permits a search for information through hierarchically linked documents accessible via the Internet in which an individual document contains a reference link to a succeeding document. The systems includes an input processor for receiving a user entered search information item identifying an object associated with at least one of the hierarchically linked documents. An Internet processor for searching and identifying a plurality of child documents hierarchically linked to a parent document identified by the object and excluding non-hierarchically associated documents in response to user initiation of a hierarchical search. An output processor processes data identifying the plurality of child documents for communication to a reproduction device.

A CPU of the control section stores the received electronic mail in a RAM, and extracts the control command contained in the electronic mail. The CPU supplies a control signal corresponding to the control command to an interface section. The interface section controls an IR transmission section to transmit a signal corresponding to the control signal supplied from the CPU or outputs a signal through a connection line, and controls a video deck.

The e-mail notification indicates whether the e-mail message includes an attachment. The e-mail notification permits the media device to provide notification of the e-mail message and an indication of whether the e-mail message includes an attachment to an output device coupled to the media device.

The system provides a user with an opportunity to adjust program guide settings with a given one of the interactive television program guides. Program guide setting include features related to setting program reminders, profiles, program recording features, messaging features, favorites features, parental control features, program guide set up features (e.g., audio and video and language settings), etc. The operation of applications such as web browser applications, home shopping applications, home banking applications, game applications, etc. may also be coordinated.
