摘要： A method and apparatus for correcting an interruption of yarn travel resulting in a trailing yarn end from a take-up bobbin and a leading yarn end from a feed bobbin, wherein after the interruption of yarn travel, the take-up bobbin is braked to a stop and a sensor detects the absence of the trailing yarn end from the take-up bobbin. If the absence is detected, the take-up bobbin is rotated in the take-up direction until the trailing yarn end is wound onto the take-up bobbin. If the absence is not detected, it is assumed that the trailing yarn end is wound onto the take-up bobbin. A catcher nozzle is provided for aspirating the trailing end if it is not wound onto the take-up bobbin, and the sensor is associated with the catcher nozzle. A suction nozzle is provided for aspirating the yarn end from the peripheral surface of the take-up bobbin and placing the trailing yarn end in a yarn end joining device where it is joined to the leading yarn end.

摘要： A machine for producing cross-wound bobbins or cheeses includes winding apparatuses each having a yarn delivery device, yarn guide devices disposed downstream of the yarn delivery device as seen in a yarn travel direction, and a yarn take-up device disposed downstream of the yarn guide devices. The yarn take-up device has a bobbin frame for carrying a cheese with a center of gravity. The bobbin frame is pivotable about a pivot shaft. A winding roller for engaging the cheese and rotating about an axis of rotation for guiding the yarn around the winding roller from a given path of the yarn traveling toward the cheese. At least one yarn breakage correcting device. A suction nozzle with an inlet mouth for retrieving a broken yarn having run up onto the cheese and an oblong slit for guiding the broken yarn to the breakage correcting device. The center of gravity of the cheese and the axis of rotation of the winding roller define an imaginary plane. The pivot shaft of the bobbin frame, the given path of the yarn at the winding roller, and the inlet mouth are all disposed on one side of the plane. Another side of the plane faces a free servicing and/or equipping and/or inspection space extending along the cheese winding machine.

摘要： A yarn engaging element is manipulated from a non-operating position through the winding path of a textile winder to engage and guide a yarn end to be spliced to a splicer. After splicing, the yarn engaging element returns at a controlled rate to release the spliced yarn at the winding path, with the release being sufficiently gradual to allow the resumption of winding to maintain tension in the spliced yarn as it moves from the splicer to the winding path, thereby avoiding sufficient slack in the spliced yarn to create kinking and yarn breaking. The yarn engaging element is manipulated by a four-link linkage controlled by a piston-cylinder mechanism or by a camming mechanism.
