    • An embodiment of a rail vehicle may comprise at least one passenger receptacle; a device configured to generate a driving and/or braking force; a transmitting device for transmitting the driving and/or braking force onto a circuit; and at least one actuating device configured to exert a control over at least one of the vehicle's speed and acceleration. The transmitting device has a first engagement element configured for positive engagement with a compatible second engagement element arranged stationarily on the circuit, and a control unit. The control unit is configured to provide control signals to the device for generating the driving and/or braking force which are independent or dependent from the control exerted through the at least one actuating device. The control signals, at least intermittently, limit or shut off the control via the at least one actuating device or superimpose on the control via the at least one actuating device.

    • A method and system are provided to obtain, with one or more processors, a speed profile of a vehicle system for a designated route traveled by the vehicle system. The designated route includes a plurality of segments, and the speed profile includes a planned segment speed for each segment. One or more planned segment speeds are identified that correspond to a point of interest, and respective priorities are assigned to the identified segment speeds based on the point of interest forming prioritized segment speeds. First discrete numeral values are displayed on a display, representing the planned segment speeds of the prioritized segments that are within a predetermined distance forward of a motion of the vehicle system. Second discrete numeral values are displayed on the display, corresponding to remaining segment speeds that are within the predetermined distance, until a predetermined threshold of discrete numeral values is reached.

    • The invention relates to a rail-guided system for transporting persons and material in underground mining and tunnel construction. The rail-guided transport system comprises a railroad network and transport vehicles that are guided in the railroad network. In the transport system, both the forward end and the opposite end of the respective transport vehicle are equipped with sensors (1-6) for detecting optical, acoustic, thermal, and acceleration data, “forward” being relative to the direction of travel. The sensors (1-6) are connected to a control computer that is disposed inside the transport vehicle while interacting with active and passive transducers located within the railroad network.

A plurality of vehicles are directed about a network of continuous guideways. The guideways include a raised guide rail and are connected by a plurality of closed loop interchanges. Each vehicle is fitted with a guide rail shoe which facilitates operation of the vehicle on the guideway. The guide rail shoe tracks the raised guide rail, and comprises a switching device that transfers a vehicle from one continuous guideway to another. The guideways are further defined by level-of-service zones. The integrity of each zone is maintained electronically by an operations center and mechanically by a level-of-service screening key.
