摘要： A wallpaper border applicator apparatus includes a base assembly which includes a first longitudinal axis. A link assembly includes a longitudinal proximal end, a transverse intermediate portion, and a longitudinal distal end which includes a second longitudinal axis. The longitudinal proximal end is rotatably connected to the base assembly. A spool-receiver assembly is connected to the longitudinal distal end of the link assembly and is adapted to receive and carry a spool of wallpaper. The first longitudinal axis and the second longitudinal axis are substantially parallel and substantially co-planar. The spool-receiver assembly includes a cup portion, an aperture-containing floor portion, a fence portion which includes a guide slot adapted to guide wallpaper as it is uncoiled from a spool of wallpaper, and a spool shaft supported by the longitudinal distal end of the link assembly and adapted to fit into a hollow core of the spool of wallpaper. A ruler portion is arrayed on the spool shaft. A tack-applier assembly is connected to the base assembly and includes an extensible and retractable tack adapted to be pushed out of the base assembly and penetrate through the wall surface so that the tack temporarily supports the segment of applied wallpaper and the applicator apparatus on the wall surface. A level assembly is connected to the base assembly and indicates vertical orientation. A lock assembly is adapted to lock the link assembly in either a selected left orientation or right orientation.

摘要： An extension rod assembly for manually positioning a tool head in contact with a work surface comprises an extension rod, a pivotable tool head, and a control linkage for locking the tool head in a selected angular position relative to the extension rod. The control linkage comprises an elongate connecting member which extends through the rod, a manually operable handle at the control end of the rod, and a clutch mechanism which is operated by the handle. The clutch has a first position in which it is disengaged from the connecting member, and a second position in which it is frictionally engaged to the connecting member in order to exert a linearly-directed force on the connecting member so as to actuate a locking assembly which locks the tool head in position. In the disengaged position, the clutch permits linear movement of the connecting member past the clutch and handle as tubular portions of the extension rod are telescoped to a desired length. In this manner, operation of the handle to select the disengaged position permits the operator.

摘要： A hand-held wallpaper applicator for supporting and applying sheet material to a wall or other surface comprises a hand held support member having a hand grip portion and a flat generally rectangular base portion with an elongate separable roller assembly rotatably and removably carried by the support member. The roller assembly is adapted to receive and releasably secure one end of a strip of wallcovering material thereon and to receive the remaining strip material thereon in a rolled condition. A laterally adjustable elongate tubular pressure contact member is removably carried at the forward end of the support member parallel with the roller assembly for contacting and applying pressure to the wallcovering material as it is scrolled off the roller assembly. A tensioning mechanism on the support member applies resilient pressure to the material rolled on the roller assembly and maintains the remaining material in the rolled condition as the material is being scrolled off the roller assembly. The tensioning mechanism is movable to engage the rolled material and a position out of engagement therewith remote from the roller assembly to remove and install the roller assembly. A level is carried on the pressure contact member for indicating the positioning of the sheet material upon the surface being covered. The material is scrolled onto the roller assembly by a removable hand crank.

摘要： A tape and adhesive applicator for dry wall taping has an adhesive dispensing nozzle adapted to be mounted on a caulking gun and an applicator roll mounted adjacent the outlet of the nozzle. The nozzle has an opening adjacent its inlet for receiving a tape for passage through the nozzle from the opening to the nozzle outlet whereby adhesive is apply to one side of the tape. The nozzle has a spring-biased adjustable gate member to control application of the adhesive and to act as a pressure relief valve if the pressure in the caulking gun becomes too great. A plunger-actuated cutter is provided to cut the tape to the proper length. The diameter of the applicator roll and length of the plunger are chosen such that the tape is coated with a uniform amount of adhesive and is automatically cut to the correct length without the need for measuring the tape.

摘要： A tool for finishing joints in wall board employs a generally cylindrical roller for applying pressure to imbed the tape in adhesive supported on a handle for applying pressure to the roller by a yoke rotatably supporting the roller in spaced locations along the roller axis. An adhesive trowel member is also supported on the yoke and provides an opening through which the roller projects. The trowel is positioned generally tangent to but slightly below the roller surface so that the trowel presents a curved surface of much greater radius than the roller and acts to redistribute the adhesive. A box scrapper also supported from the yoke about an axis parallel to the roller axis has a base and sidewalls, except on that side adjacent the roller. That particular side is left open to accumulate adhesive scrapped off the wall. The sidewalls are made to terminate in a common plane permitting flat contact with the wall and together act as a scrapper to collect adhesive in the box. A separate scrapper actuating means adjacent to the handle is connected to the box scrapper and enables the scrapper to be manually moved into place against the wall trailing the roller as the roller moves along a joint.
