Provision is made of a device for reversing the direction of flow, and this allows recirculation of the washing liquor in a second direction, which runs counter to the first direction, in order to flow through and eliminate impurities from a first screen, with the first screen being arranged in the water circuit in such a way that liquid forcibly flows through the first screen during recirculation of the washing liquor both in the first and in the second direction.

摘要： A dishwasher includes a pump assembly which functions to chop all fluid entrained soil prior to directing fluid to upper and lower wash arms. A flow conduit leading to the upper wash arm is provided with a sampling port which directs a percentage of the fluid flow into a filter chamber having one or more fine mesh filter screens that open into the dishwasher tub basin. The filter chamber is exposed to a collection chamber that leads to a drain. In the event the filter chamber becomes clogged, a pressure relief valve opens a pressure regulation port to permit washing fluid in the filter chamber to enter the tub basin. In one embodiment, the pressure relief valve is constituted by a check ball which is displaced by a pressure build up in the filter chamber. In another embodiment, the pressure relief valve is constituted by a flapper valve.

摘要： A filter system for dishwasher with a sump having inlets leading to a wash pump and a drain pump in the bottom wall. The filter assembly includes a vertical filter retainer an overlying perforate hood, a multiple porosity filter element carried on the filter retainer and a back wash sprayer rotatably mounted inside the filter retainer with at least one backwash nozzle directed toward the filter assembly. The inlet leading to the wash pump is positioned inside the filter element and the inlet to the drain pump is located outside the filter element. The filter element has openings that vary in size from the top to the bottom of the filter element. The filter element openings can be arranged in bands of different porosity openings including fine, medium and coarse porosity openings. The perforate hood can have coarse porosity openings.

摘要： A pump priming sensing system for managing a filtration system is provided. The sensing system is capable of monitoring the state of the motor that operates the pump in a dishwasher to determine if the pump is receiving enough water to operate at a normal torque level. A filter is provided above the pump inlet to the pump. When a mixture of water and air is received through the pump inlet, the torque level falls. The motor transmits this decrease in torque level to a controller, which activates a filter cleaning system to clean the filter of soil/food/debris loosed from the dishes being cleaned in the dishwasher. Once the filter has been cleaned, normal operation of the dishwasher is resumed with the pump operating at a normal torque level.

摘要： A dishwasher having a speed-controlled induction motor coupled to a pump to drive the pump during dishwasher operation. A motor controller is connected to the induction motor to control the speed of operation of the induction motor. A dishwasher controller is connected to the motor controller for sending signals to, and receiving signals from, the motor controller during operation to control the motor speed. The flow rate of water through the pump discharge to a spray arm is controlled based on the phase of the wash cycle and the condition of the filter that blocks food debris from entering the sump. The motor speed is decreased to decrease the pump flow rate when the flow rate through the filter decreases in an early phase of the wash cycle. The motor speed is increased to increase the pump flow rate during later phases of the wash cycle. In steady state operation, the flow rate through the filter is matched to the flow rate through the pump discharge.
