摘要： A β type Sialon fluorescent substance is disclosed that is capable of achieving enhanced brightness of a white light emitting diode using blue to ultraviolet light as a light source. In the fluorescent substance which contains not less than 90% by mass of a β type Sialon composition represented by general formula: Si6-zAlzOzN8-z as a host material wherein z is not less than 0.24 and not more than 0.42, Eu is present dissolved in solid solution as a luminescent center at a content of 0.05 to 0.2% by atom. The β type Sialon fluorescent substance is preferably in the form of a powder having an average particle size of not less than 1 μm and not more than 20 μm. A white LED of good luminescent characteristics can be obtained by using a blue or ultraviolet light emitting diode as a excitation light source in combination with a fluorescent substance that emits yellow or red light.

A method for temporary fixing a member, which comprises bonding and temporarily fixing the member by means of the above adhesive composition, processing the temporarily fixed member, and immersing the processed is member in warm water of at most 90° C., thereby to remove a cured resin of the adhesive composition from the member.

An amorphous siliceous powder having a content of Si and Al of 99.5 mass % or above in terms of oxides, wherein the Al content in the particle size region of 15 μm to less than 70 μm is 100 to 30000 ppm in terms of oxides; the Al content in the particle size region of 3 μm to less than 15 μm is 100 to 7000 ppm in terms of oxides; and the Al content in the whole particle size region is 100 to 25000 ppm in terms of oxides. It is preferable that the (A)/(B) ratio of the Al content (A) in the particle size region of 15 μm to less than 70 μm to the Al content (B) in the particle size region of 3 μm to less than 15 μm be 1.0 to 20.

摘要： An aluminum/silicon carbide composite prepared by infiltrating a flat silicon carbide porous body with a metal containing aluminum as the main component, including an aluminum alloy layer made of a metal containing aluminum as the main component on both principal planes, and one principal plane is bonded to a circuit plate and the other principal plane is utilized as a radiation plane. The silicon carbide porous body is formed or machined into a convexly bowed shape, and after infiltration with the metal containing aluminum as the main component, the aluminum alloy layer on the radiation plane is further machined to form the bow shape. The aluminum/silicon carbide composite is suitable as a base plate for a ceramic circuit plate on which semiconductor components are mounted, for which high reliability is required.
