    • To effectively record files onto a semiconductor memory, a file recording apparatus has a plurality of file buffers provided for the respective files. Data requested to be written is accumulated in a corresponding file buffer. A judgment is made as to whether data having been accumulated reaches the size of one block, which is a unit of erasing the semiconductor memory. If it is judged that data accumulated in one of the file buffers or in the plurality of file buffers in total has reached the block size, the accumulated data is written into a free block of the semiconductor memory.

    • An image forming apparatus includes a plurality of developing portions capable of developing electrostatic latent images formed on an image bearing member, and a control portion for executing preparation operations for developing operations with respect to each of the plurality of developing portions. The image forming apparatus has a first mode for conducting image formation by use of the plurality of developing portions, and a second mode for conducting the image formation by use of only a predetermined developing portion in the plurality of developing portions. The preparation operations for the predetermined developing portion are executed earlier than the preparation operations of the developing portions other than the predetermined developing portion in the plurality of developing portions, and the image formation in the second mode can be done earlier than the first mode.

    • The present invention provides a technique which can make an image quality on a screen of a TFT liquid crystal display device uniform. A liquid crystal display device includes a TFT substrate on which TFT circuits are arranged in an array, a counter substrate which is arranged to face a surface of the TFT substrate on which the TFTs are formed, and a liquid crystal material which is filled between the TFT substrate and the counter substrate, wherein in the TFT substrate, assuming a film thickness and a width of a conductive film of the gate electrode lines in a first region thereof as GLD1 and GLW1 respectively, and a film thickness and a width of a conductive film of the gate electrode lines in a second region thereof which differs from the first region as GLD2 and GLW2 respectively, when the relationship GLD1 GLW2 is established.
