摘要： In an electrostatographic liquid immersion development (LID) reproduction machine having an image bearing member having an image bearing surface, a development apparatus having a development electrode for forming a development nip with the image bearing surface and for effectively dissipating residual counter charges from the development nip. The development apparatus includes a housing mounted against the image bearing member and defining a sump portion, a conduit member having a development opening, a recovery chamber, and an opening into the recovery chamber. The development electrode consists of a conductive development shoe and a bias source connected to the development shoe. The development electrode is mounted across the development opening of the conduit member, and closely spaced from the image bearing surface for forming the development nip. Importantly, the development electrode has pores therethrough for preventing undesirable residue build-up on the development shoe, and thereby effectively dissipating residual counter charges from the development nip, thus increasing developability of image areas and cleanliness of image background areas.

摘要： An apparatus for developing a latent image that contains a housing with a supply of a developer of carrier and toner and a coated toner donor member, which member is spaced from the surface on which a latent image Is being recorded. The apparatus also includes a means for advancing the developer material in the chamber of the housing and this means cooperates with the donor means and both means define a region wherein a substantially constant quantity of toner is deposited on the donor member. The apparatus further includes an electrode means positioned near the surface of a dielectric core roll and these electrodes are biased to detach toner from the donor member and to form a donor cloud for developing the latent image. The coated toner transport means can be comprised of a core with a coating of an oxidized polyether carbonate.

摘要： An apparatus which develops an electrostatic latent image recorded on a photoconductive member with toner. Fluidized toner is transported from one end of the developer housing to the other end. An electrical bias is applied between the toner mover and the donor roller so as to attract toner to the donor roller. A rotating rod resiliently urged into contact with the donor roller charges and meters the toner on the donor roller. Electrically biased wires in the development zone between the photoconductive member and the donor roller detach toners from the donor roll so as to form a toner powder cloud in the development zone. Detached toner from the toner powder cloud develops the latent image.

The system includes an electroconductive tube that not only melts the solid ink, but also permits a control system to sense the ink temperature due to the tube's inherent properties. A controller operatively coupled to the electroconductive tube provides power to the tube, which in turn enables current flow. The flow of current resistively heats the electroconductive tube, thereby heating and melting the ink. Further, the controller is configured to control the current flowing through the tube.
