    • A disk head fly height adjustment method includes positioning a disk head over a surface of a rotating data storage disk and dynamically altering a load point of the disk head by changing an electrical force applied to an active element mounted to a head-gimbal assembly. A data storage apparatus includes a head assembly having a data transfer head coupled to a gimbal and an active element coupling the head assembly and a suspension. The active element is configured to exert a force between the head assembly and the suspension in response to an electrical force applied to the active element. The active element can dynamically shift a load point of a disk head. Shifting the load point can alter the pitch of the disk head and, consequently, the fly height of the head.

    • Methods and devices employing circuitry for reducing power usage of a touch-sensitive display are provided. In one example, a method includes receiving power for a display of an electronic device. The method also includes powering a touch subsystem and a display subsystem of the display. The method includes, in a standard display mode, storing a frame of data in pixels of the display subsystem during a first period of time. The method also includes, in a low power display mode, storing a frame of data in pixels of the display subsystem during a second period of time. The second period of time is not equal to the first period of time. The method includes detecting a touch of the display via the touch subsystem between each synchronization signal of a plurality of synchronization signals received by the display.

    • A method and system is disclosed for minimizing parasitic losses associated with a liquid crystal display (LCD) of a device. A frame buffer may be used in conjunction with a driver circuitry integrated circuit. The frame buffer may store a set of display values for the LCD so that the display values corresponding to a plurality of frames may be transmitted together from a processor in a burst. Once the values are transmitted, the processor may idle or hibernate. Alternatively, only the changes to an image may be transmitted from the processor to the driver circuitry. The remaining pixel values may be drawn based on values previously stored in the frame buffer. Furthermore, the driver circuitry may be used to step up the received display rate values to a level that allows for inversion of the polarity of pixels in the LCD using frame inversion.
