摘要： An image reading apparatus such as a color copying apparatus has a plurality of sensing CCD chips for converting an image of an object into an electrical signal, each sensing CCD chip having a plurality of sensing elements. The apparatus also has a circuit for converting the electrical signal into digital data. A first adjusting circuit is provided for conducting either an operation for obtaining level matching of the electrical signal converted by the sensing chips, or an operation for controlling the gain of the electrical signal converted by the sensing chips. The apparatus further has a second adjusting circuit for effecting compensation for fluctuation of characteristics of the sensing elements of the sensing chips, by making use of the digital data converted by the converting circuit, the second adjusting circuit being adapted for effecting the compensation on the basis of electrical signals which are produced as a result of conversion by the sensing chips from two objects having different levels of density from each other, such as white and black levels.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image forming mechanism, an input device for setting image formation data necessary to command desired image formation, first and second displays for displaying the data input through the input device and for indicating that the apparatus is ready to form images, respectively, a starter for commanding image formation to commence, a timer, and a controller. The timer controls the first display to return the image formation data to predetermined values if the starter has not been actuated during a predetermined time interval. The controller controls the image forming mechanism to form an image according to the displayed data if the starter is actuated after the ready indication, controls the input device to allow the input of data even before the ready indication in which case the timer begins to time after the ready indication, and controls the timer to reset if new image formation data is input during the predetermined time.

According to this process, this undesirable coloration can effectively prevented.

摘要： There is disclosed an invention for generating contract information for an image forming apparatus for which the user is going to conclude a contract. The history information of an image forming apparatus used by the user and having a contract history is stored and managed in correlation with the user. Such management is executed in a center server capable communication with the image forming apparatus through a predetermined communication channel. The above-mentioned information includes contract term, machine type, number of print outputs etc. of the image forming apparatus. Also the image forming apparatus to be managed includes that currently contracted and that contracted in the past. In case the user wishes to conclude a new contract for an image forming apparatus, new contract information is generated according to the history information managed by the center server in correlation with the user. This invention provides a system capable of realizing the foregoing.
