    • A roller chain sprocket includes a number of sprocket teeth each having an engaging flank and a disengaging flank. An engaging flank of a first tooth of the sprocket cooperates with a disengaging flank of a second tooth to define a tooth space having a root surface extending between the engaging flank and the disengaging flank. The root surface has a first root surface portion defined by a first radius extending from an arc center of the first root surface portion. A cushion ring is mounted to a first face of the sprocket and has a number of alternating compression pads and grooves. A first groove has a first groove portion defined by a second radius extending from an arc center of the first groove portion. The arc center of the first groove portion being positioned at least proximate a radial line extending between a center of the sprocket and the arc center of the first root surface portion. A first compression pad having an inclined outer surface defined by a leading edge that is spaced radially inward relative to a trailing edge. The leading edge is also positioned radially inward from the engaging flank of the first tooth, and the trailing edge is positioned radially inward from a disengaging flank of the first tooth.

    • A unidirectional roller chain sprocket for use primarily in automotive engine chain drive applications which incorporates an asymmetrical tooth for improved noise reduction. The asymmetrical tooth profile incorporates a flank flat which is tangent to an engaging flank radius and a first root radius. The asymmetrical tooth profile also incorporates one or more inclined root surfaces which provide tooth space clearance for maintaining the chain rollers in hard contact with the root surface in the sprocket wrap. The asymmetrical tooth profile further incorporates pitch mismatch wherein the sprocket chordal pitch is less than the chain chordal pitch to facilitate a "staged" roller-tooth contact as a roller moves into full mesh from an initial tangential impact at the flank flat.

    • The present invention relates to a segmented, combination level and square that has a rotating joint. In a preferred embodiment, this hand tool provides the user with many optional tools in one. The tool can be configured as a level, a T-square, a framing square, a T-bevel, or a pocket square. In a preferred embodiment, this multi-segmented combination tool also provides the user with a convenient way not only to configure a level, in one inch increments, to any length from several inches to at least ten feet in length, but also to create more than one tool at a time such as a T-level and a framing square. In other preferred embodiments, the user is provided with optional features that enable them to carry on-site a single tool that can perform all tasks needed to do general construction layout such as roof framing.

The root surface preceding a Type A Relieved Tooth or a Type B Relieved Tooth is raised so as to be located radially outward as compared the root surface preceding a Type A Standard Tooth or a Type B Standard Tooth.

For a chain pitch P in the range of 6.35 mm to 7.7 mm, the initial contact distance ICD is controlled such that 0.49 P≦ICD≦0.53 P, the meshing impact angle Sigma (σ) is controlled such that σ≦34°, and the link plate entrance angle Beta (β) is controlled such that β≦9°.
