    • Disclosed is a radio-over-fiber (ROF) system for supporting various services, the system comprising: a central access platform (CAP) for providing time division duplexing (TDD), frequency division duplexing (FDD), and broadcasting services, converting a TDD downward signal and FDD/broadcasting downward signals into optical signals, respectively, transmitting the converted optical signals to a remote access unit (RAU), converting a TDD upward signal and an FDD upward signal, which have been transmitted as optical signals from the RAU, into electric signals, respectively, and using an optical circulator in order to separate upward and downward signals from each other; and the RAU for converting the TDD downward signal and FDD/broadcasting downward signals transmitted from the CAP into electric signals, respectively, converting the TDD upward signal and FDD upward signal to be transmitted to the CAP into optical signals, respectively, and using an optical circulator in order to separate upward and downward signals from each other, wherein the RAU includes a plurality of signal filtering/separating/combining units, which wirelessly emit the TDD downward signal and FDD/broadcasting downward signals, having been converted into electric signals, through an antenna, and which separate wirelessly-received TDD upward signal and FDD upward signal from each other.

    • An optical transmitter for generating an optical signal includes: a precoder for coding an electrical signal of binary data; a continuous-wave (CW) light source for generating a continuous wave light; an optical phase modulator for modulating the phase of an optical signal outputted from the CW light source according to an electrical signal outputted from the precoder; a birefrigent material for bi-refracting a signal outputted from the optical phase modulator and for outputting the bi-refracted signal; and a polarizer for permitting only optical signals of a specific polarization direction to transmit therethrough when optical signals outputted from the birefrigent material are applied.

    • An optical transmitter with a feed-forward compensation is disclosed. The optical transmitter includes a first light source receiving a second electrical signal to convert into a first optical signal, an optical splitter dividing the first optical signal into a second optical signal and a third optical signal, an optical detector converting the third optical signal into a fourth electrical signal, a comparator receiving the fourth electrical signal and a third electrical signal, to produce a fifth electrical signal corresponding to a difference between the third electrical signal and the fourth electrical signal, a second light source converting the fifth electrical signal into a fourth optical signal, and an optical combiner for offsetting a distortion component of the fourth optical signal against the second optical signal to produce a fifth optical signal.
