    • A power management control circuit and method thereof includes a power register that contains a number of request tokens for at least one power consumption module. The number of request tokens represents a power adjust level of the at least one power consumption module. The power management control circuit and method thereof further includes a power controller coupled to the power register, wherein the power controller determines whether to adjust the power consumption module based on a comparison of a number of system tokens with the number of request tokens for the power consumption module. The power management control circuit and the method thereof further includes a token generator coupled to the power controller. The token generator generates the predetermined number of system tokens and a token valid signal for clearing an up token register and a down token register for each predetermined time interval.

    • Compositors are identified in a manner that defines the position of the compositor in the compositor tree. Each compositor has its own “unique compositor identifier”. Starting at the most downstream compositor, it transmits its unique compositor identifier to all upstream compositors directly coupled to it. The upstream compositors receive the unique compositor identifier from the most downstream compositor. Each of the upstream compositors appends its unique compositor identifier to the unique compositor identifier received from the most downstream compositor to produce a “compositor tree compositor identifier”. The compositor tree compositor identifier identifies both the compositor and its position in the compositor tree. This enables an application to detect the structure of the compositor tree so that the application can determine a desired tiling configuration that exploits the structure of the compositor tree.

    • A color space detector (30) for recognizing a color space of a digital video input includes a high frequency detector (32) that identifies a presence of either blue data or possible color difference data in color information carried in the digital video input. A data sample correlator (34) is also used to identify a presence of either blue data or color difference data in the color information. Other detectors (36) provide an indication as to the type of color space present on the digital video input. A determinator receives and analyzes the results from the high frequency detector (32), the data sample correlator (34), and the other detectors (36) and generates a control signal in response to these results. The control signal indicates that the color information includes one of red/green/blue data, YCrCb data, or indeterminate data.
