    • A network processor has numerous novel features including a multi-threaded processor array, a multi-pass processing model, and Global Packet Memory (GPM) with hardware managed packet storage. These unique features allow the network processor to perform high-touch packet processing at high data rates. The packet processor can also be coded using a stack-based high-level programming language, such as C or C++. This allows quicker and higher quality porting of software features into the network processor.Processor performance also does not severely drop off when additional processing features are added. For example, packets can be more intelligently processed by assigning processing elements to different bounded duration arrival processing tasks and variable duration main processing tasks. A recirculation path moves packets between the different arrival and main processing tasks. Other novel hardware features include a hardware architecture that efficiently intermixes co-processor operations with multi-threaded processing operations and improved cache affinity.

    • An audio fidelity meter includes a scale which uses colors to visually represent the fidelity of an encoded digital audio file based at least on its extracted bit rate. The bit rate is one of several digital audio quality descriptors. Other descriptors include format, source, bit width, and sample rate. The extracted bit rate is fed into a lookup table for processing. One or more of the other descriptors can also be extracted and fed in combination with the extracted bit rate into the lookup table for processing. The lookup table stores information on various digital audio formats, sources and associated bit rates, bit widths and sample rates in the form of a database. The input bit width, sample rate, format, originating source and/or bit rate is/are compared against the database to generate a digital audio quality output. The output may be visually displayed via the scale, a fidelity meter needle and an associated numerical bit rate display.

    • A high-pressure stripper rubber provides inserts and support members that cooperatively support the profile of the rubber against elastic deformation. The inserts dynamically cooperate to resist elastic deformation of the rubber due to down hole pressure. The stripper rubber has a generally cylindrical upper moiety and a dynamic, generally frusto-conical, lower moiety that cooperatively define a bore for receiving oilfield equipment. A generally ring-shaped adapter insert, at least partially within the stripper rubber, is disposed toward the upper moiety for attaching the stripper rubber to drilling head equipment. A structural retention insert assembly provides (1) one or more support members proximately, movably and selectively attached to the adapter insert, and (2) one or more structural retention inserts at least partially within the stripper rubber and distally attached to the one or more support members. The stripper rubber dynamically forms a self-actuating, fluid-tight seal around varying outer diameters of oil field equipment as the equipment is tripped through the stripper rubber bore with minimal deformation of the rubber, even under high pressure.
