A controller predicts a load torque of the generator with respect to the engine in future several hundred milliseconds at maximum from the present time, in view of a magnetic field voltage and a speed of the generator at the present time, and controls the engine in accordance with the predicted load torque in order to prevent the output torque of the engine from being insufficient.

摘要： An electric four-wheel drive vehicle and a control unit for the same, which can be applied to cars of class having larger displacements than the class to which the electric four-wheel drive vehicle equipped with the DC motor is applied, without increasing the cost over that of the known mechanical four-wheel drive vehicle. Front wheels of the vehicle are driven by an engine, and rear wheels are driven by an AC motor. A generator is driven by a rotating force of the engine to output DC power. An inverter converts the DC power outputted from the generator to AC power. A control unit controls the generator such that energy Pm required for driving the AC motor is outputted from the generator.

In the event of slipping of the engine-driven wheels, the system increases the engine output so as to increase the driving force of the electric-motor-driven wheels for increasing the total driving force mad up of the engine-driven-wheel driving force and the electric-motor-driven-wheel driving force, thereby improving acceleration performance, unlike conventional techniques. This provides a control device for suppressing deterioration in acceleration performance of the vehicle in a case of slipping of engine-driven wheels during acceleration.

摘要： An electric four-wheel drive vehicle includes: an internal combustion engine; a generator for outputting DC electrical power; an inverter for converting DC electrical power, output from the generator, into AC electrical power; and an AC electric motor, which is driven by the inverter, for driving rear wheels. An electric motor controller controls the inverter, the AC electric motor, and the generator, according to torque instructions from a vehicle. Furthermore, in a case that the output of the AC electric motor becomes negative, and excess electrical energy is generated, the electric motor controller controls the current applied to said AC electric motor such that the loss in said AC electric motor exceeds the negative output of said AC electric motor. This enables the AC electric motor to absorb excess electrical energy in the form of thermal loss.

摘要： An object of the present invention is to provide a controller for an electric four-wheel-drive vehicle, which is capable of minimizing torque changes and consuming excessive power even when the excessive power is generated by a generator. A motor control unit causes an AC motor to generate desired torque by controlling an inverter. When the power generated by the generator exceeds the power consumed by the inverter and AC motor to generate excessive power, a current command determination unit in the motor control unit consumes the excessive power by increasing a loss in the AC motor.
