    • A rotor structure comprising a rotor coil for generating a magnetic flux, a pole core which covers the rotor coil and consists of a first pole core body and a second pole core body, each having a plurality of claw-like magnetic poles which are mated with each other, magnets provided on both sides of each of the claw-like magnetic pole for suppressing the leakage of a magnetic flux between adjacent claw-like magnetic poles, and reinforcements for holding the magnets in such a manner that the magnets are inclined so that the interval between the magnets becomes larger on the outer side than on the inner side.     • A rotor for an automotive alternator comprises a cylindrical bobbin fitted over the base portions of a pair of field cores having a cylindrical portion, a pair of first and second annular flange portions projecting perpendicularly from both ends of the cylindrical portion, a recessed groove disposed at an angle to the radial direction in the inner wall of the first flange portion, and an anchor portion disposed on an outer circumferential portion of the first flange portion in close proximity to the outer circumferential end of the recessed groove; and a field winding having a circular cross-section, the starting portion of which is wound around the anchor portion and housed in the recessed groove, then drawn from the inner circumferential end of the recessed groove onto the outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical portion of the bobbin, and additionally wound a predetermined number of turns into multiple layers on the cylindrical portion of the bobbin, at least one portion of the field winding excluding the prewind portion and the postwind portion being formed with a rectangular cross-section.

    • A brushless alternator includes: a rotor mounted on a shaft; a ring-shaped yoke which is opposed to the rotor via a very narrow radial clearance; a stepped portion provided on a side surface of an inner circumference of an axial end section of the yoke; a plate fixed to the stepped portion and having a cylindrical portion made of a magnetic material; a bobbin provided so as to surround a radially outer side of the cylindrical portion of the plate for the purpose of winding a field coil therearound; and a stator provided with a clearance retained on an outer side of the rotor, wherein a radial thickness of a part of the cylindrical portion which is fixed to the stepped portion provided on the inner circumferential surface of the yoke is set larger than 1 mm and not larger than 2 mm.

    • An IC regulator for controlling an alternator by changing contents of control in dependence on ambient temperature includes a control voltage limiter (2), a field current controller (3), a temperature sensor (4), a first comparator (5) for comparing the ambient temperature (T) with an activation temperature (TP1) and a reset temperature (TS1), and a second comparator (6) for comparing the ambient temperature (T) with a second activation temperature (TP2). The first comparator (5) outputs a limiter control signal (C2) when the ambient temperature (T) exceeds the first activation temperature (TP1) while resetting the limiter control when the temperature (T) becomes lower than the first reset temperature (TS1). The second comparator (6) outputs a field current interrupt signal (C3) when the ambient temperature (T) exceeds a second activation temperature (TP2) while resetting the signal (C3) when the temperature (T) becomes lower than the second activation temperature (TP2).
