    • A device for cleaning the barrel of a firearm comprising a longitudinal central member having a leading end and a trailing end; a tubular woven sheath surrounding said central member; and a radial protrusion formed of a polymer disposed about said central member and under the tubular woven sheath. The radial protrusions are overmolded thermoplastic that distends the sheath radially to the internal diameter of gun barrel. The central member may include a fitting for attachment to various auxiliary tools or a T-handle. The surface of the polymer is provided with helical pattern of protrusions formed to urge the sheath against the lands of barrel rifling. The sheath is woven of primarily a natural fiber such as cotton. Luminescent, abrasive or heat resistant threads may also be woven into the sheath. A sponge material may be disposed between the sheath and the central member.

    • A self-limiting vacuum (SLV) nozzle is provided for collecting or removing combustible dust. The nozzle comprises a nozzle body comprising a nozzle inlet port, a nozzle unloader port, and a suction port; a suction tube assembly operably connected to the nozzle inlet port; a material deflector for directing vacuumed material from the suction tube assembly into the suction port; and an unloader hood installed in the unloader port. Discs can be installed in the unloader or suction port to control collection of combustible dust by the nozzle so that the concentration of dust collected within the hose stays below the minimum explosive concentration (MEC). The nozzle is operably connected to a vacuum source. Systems and methods for collecting combustible dust using the nozzle and a vacuum system are provided. Operation of the nozzle regulates the MEC of the combustible dust that is collected in the vacuum system.

    • The invention relates to neutral mononuclear copper (I) complexes for emitting light and with a structure according to formula (A) in which: M represents: Cu(I); L∩L represents: a single, negatively charged, bidentate ligand; N∩N represents: a diimine ligand (substituted with R and FG), in particular a substituted 2,2′-bipyridine derivative (bpy) or a substituted 1,10-phenanthroline derivative (phen); R represents: at least one sterically demanding substituent for preventing the planarization of the complex in the excited state; FG=functional group, and represents: at least one second substituent for increasing solubility in organic solvents. The substituent can also be used for electron transport or alternatively for hole transport, said functional group being bound to the diimine ligands either directly or by means of suitable bridges; and the copper (I) complex: having a ΔE(S1−T1) value of less than 2500 cm−1 between the lowest excited singlet state (S1) and the triplet state (T1) which lies below; having an emission lifespan of at most 20 μs; having an emission quantum yield of greater than 40%, and a solubility of at least 1 g/L in organic solvents, in particular polar organic hydrocarbons such as acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, benzene, toluene, chlorobenzene, dichlorobenzene, dichloromethane, chloroform, dichloroethane, tetrachloroethylene, alcohols, acetonitrile or water.

    • The invention relates to a monofrequency optical filter, including reflective elements which are formed on one surface of a dielectric support layer and which define at least one periodic array of parallel grooves passing across same. The periodicity, height, and width of said periodic groove array are selected so as to form a structure, the wavelength of which can be selected from within a predetermined range of wavelengths. According to the invention, the thickness and refractive index of the support layer are selected so that said layer forms a half-wave plate for a wavelength of the predetermined wavelength range. The filter, when in contact with the surface of the support layer opposite the surface on which the groove array is formed, includes a medium, the refractive index of which is less than that of the support layer so as to obtain a guided mode that resonates in the support layer.
