The heterocyclic derivative containing compounds are synthesized by condensing a heterocyclic derivative with a cyclic group (e.g. a ribofuranose derivative). The labeling compounds are suitable for enzymatic attachment to a nucleic acid, either terminally or internally, to provide a mechanism of nucleic acid detection.

摘要： In embodiments of the invention, a radiosensitizer or other agent is relatively uniformly accumulated in the cells of a tumor. An external monochromatic x-ray beam, which is tuned to a predetermined energy level associated with k-edge effects in the agent, is then directed to the tumor. The monochromatic x-ray beam activates the release of additional localized radiation from the agent. The additional radiation destroys the DNA of at least some tumor cells, making those tumor cells incapable of reproduction and repair. In embodiments of the invention, a single monochromatic x-ray beam source is used for both imaging and radiotherapy.

摘要： A medical stent provides an active agent to a patient's body while simultaneously maintaining an open passageway within the body of the patient. The stent includes a first segment, a second segment, a connecting segment disposed between the first and second segments, and the active agent. The active agent may be a hemostatic agent that stops or controls bleeding by coagulation, or any other medical drug, such as, for example an antibiotic or an anticoagulant. When the stent is properly positioned within the patient's urinary system, the first segment is located on one side of the external sphincter and the second segment is located on the other side. The connecting segment is sized to extend through the external sphincter to couple the first and second segments together while not interfering with the normal operation of the external sphincter.

摘要： A divider apparatus for use within a phase-locked loop having an output terminal at which an output frequency is produced. The apparatus includes a prescalar circuit configured to produce a prescaled signal by dividing the output frequency in response to a mode select signal. A first programmable counter is disposed to receive the prescaled signal and to produce the mode select signal. In addition, a second programmable counter is disposed to receive the prescaled signal and to produce a divided signal utilized by the phase-locked loop. The apparatus further includes a control circuit connected to the first programmable counter and to the second programmable counter, the control circuit providing a first resynchronization signal to the first programmable counter and a second resynchronization signal to the second programmable counter.

摘要： A system, apparatus, and method are disclosed for storing and prioritizing predictions to anticipate nonsequential accesses to a memory. In one embodiment, an exemplary apparatus is configured as a prefetcher for predicting accesses to a memory. The prefetcher includes a prediction generator configured to generate a prediction that is unpatternable to an address. Also, the prefetcher also can include a target cache coupled to the prediction generator to maintain the prediction in a manner that determines a priority for the prediction. In another embodiment, the prefetcher can also include a priority adjuster. The priority adjuster sets a priority for a prediction relative to other predictions. In some cases, the placement of the prediction is indicative of the priority relative to priorities for the other predictions. In yet another embodiment, the prediction generator uses the priority to determine that the prediction is to be generated before other predictions.

摘要： An integrator, a plurality of adapters corresponding to a plurality of applications, and a proxy are employed to cooperatively provision the applications as a composite application. In one embodiment, the integrator selectively invokes the appropriate adaptors, which in turn, invoke the proxy. Provision is switched from one application to another by the adaptor of a former application invoking the integrator, which in turn, invokes another application, via its adaptor. Each of the integrator and adaptors may through the proxy, modify a provisioned portion of one the applications. Selected ones of the integrator and adaptors may also have operations performed while the proxy is in a pre-proxy and/or a post-proxy state, thereby facilitating the cooperative provisioning of the applications. Further, modifications to facilitate subsequent requests to be redirected back to the integrator are distributed, and performed on the composite application consuming clients.
