    • An outside handle device for a vehicle door including an outer panel having a latching hole and an insertion hole formed therein for provisionally assembling a handle main body onto the outer panel. The latching hole is engaged with a bolt screwed into one end part of a grip portion. The insertion hole is engaged with a penetrating portion provided on the other end part of the grip portion. A base plate includes a first engagement recess and a second engagement recess so as to open on a side edge of the base plate. The first engagement recess houses the bolt having an enlarged diameter head portion engaged therewith. The second engagement recess houses the penetrating portion so that the other end part of the base plate can engage with the latching groove of the penetrating portion by pivoting the base plate around an axis of the bolt.
