    • The command device for dispensing fluids comprises a handgrip posteriorly constrained to a fluid feed pipe and anteriorly bearing a spout connected to the feed pipe and destined to be introduced into an access mouth of a container to be filled with the fluid. A trigger can selectively assume at least a first, closed position in which a connection between the spout and the fluid supply pipe is closed, and a second, open position in which the connection is opened. A mobile lock can on command assume at least a first, locking position, in which the trigger is maintained in the open position, and at least a second unlocked position in which the trigger is free to return into the closed position.

    • An emergency shut-off valve is designed to be retrofitted into an existing gasoline nozzle by interposing the shut-off valve between the handle assembly and nozzle assembly of an existing gasoline dispensing nozzle. The inventive shut-off valve is spring biased in a closing direction and is held open by a protrusion extending proximal of the nozzle portion of the existing gasoline dispensing nozzle so that with the shut-off valve assembled between the existing handle assembly and nozzle assembly, the valve is held open. A sleeve having a weakened annulus holds the nozzle assembly onto the shut-off valve. If a driver drives away from a gasoline dispensing pump with the nozzle remaining within the gas tank opening, the weakened area fails allowing the sleeve to separate and the nozzle assembly to remove itself from the shut-off valve causing the shut-off valve to instantaneously close preventing fuel spillage. Embodiments of vapor recovery structure are also disclosed.

    • A filling apparatus for filling liquid into a container to either of at least two levels has a liquid pouring gun unit for dispensing a liquid and a sensor thereon for sensing that the distance of a surface of the liquid from the end of the gun unit closest to the liquid is a predetermined distance and producing a signal when this distance is sensed. A liquid supply line is connected to the gun unit and has a valve therein and counter for determining the amount of liquid which is flowing in the liquid supply line. The sensor and the counter are connected to a controller, which in turn is connected to the valve. The controller can be set for actuation at either of at least two levels. The controller actuates the valve, when it is set for a first level, to close the valve in response to the signal from said sensor, and actuates the valve, when it is set for a second level, to close the valve only after the controller has determined that a predetermined amount of liquid has flowed through the liquid supply line after receipt of the signal from the sensor.

    • This invention relates to a method and a system for selectively filling or emptying a tank by a filling or discharging device for the tank. In accordance with the invention, a passive responder and an aerial element of an electromagnetic detection system are respectively provided in the vicinity of the inlet or outlet of the tank and on the part of the filling or discharging device cooperating with the tank inlet or outlet. The aerial element forms part of a detection system for generating an electromagnetic interrogation field, which detection system generates a signal when detecting a responder. In one embodiment of the invention, the responder is a passive responder generating a uniquely coded signal by which the detection system identifies the responder.

The disclosed nozzle comprises a control unit that produces data corresponding to the actual volume of fluid flow, regardless of the flow rate. Coordinating apparatus coordinates the flow data with the requirement data and when the correct volume of fluid has been dispensed, the control unit terminates the fluid dispensing operation.
