    • A clamping connector that can be remotely actuated and locked which is particularly useful in subsea applications for attaching subsea Christmas trees to marine wellheads. The clamping connector includes clamp halves linked by a locking stem. The locking stem is forced into a pre-stressed state by moving the locking stem from a first relaxed to a second pre-stressed position and retained in the second pre-stressed position by a locking collet. A locking collet through which the locking stem extends is moved from a first unlocked position to a second locked position wedged between the locking stem and one or the other of the clamp halves. When the locking collet is in the second locked position, it resists movement of the locking stem from the second pre-stressed position to the first relaxed position. The locking collet is then locked in the second locked position. The clamping connector of the present invention is characterized by a minimal height which is particularly advantageous over prior clamping connectors.

    • A tubular joint adapted to connect a pair of pipes is formed by a joint body made of a synthetic resin having a pair of connection ports integrally formed on respective sides thereof. An engaging groove is formed around an axial line on an outside circumferential surface of each of the connection ports, and a synthetic resin-made fall-out preventing member is fixed at an end portion of each of the connection ports. An outside cylindrical portion of each of the fall-out preventing members has a tapered surface adapted to enable the fall-out preventing members to be press-fitted onto the respective connection ports, and includes a plurality of engaging portions that are engaged with the engaging groove formed around the axial line on the outside circumferential surface of each of the connection ports as the fall-out preventing members are press-fitted thereon. And an inside cylindrical portion of each of the fall-out preventing members extends toward a center of the connection ports in an inclined manner, and includes a plurality of fall-out stoppers whose tip ends are shaped so as to be engaged in a groove portion formed around an axial line on the outside circumferential surface of the respective pipes to be connected as the pipes are inserted and fitted in the connection ports.

    • A flange protector for protecting opposing flanges of a pipe joint from corrosion and leakage. The flange protector is comprised of a transparent, flexible, elastomeric band for wrapping around the periphery of the opposing pipe flanges of the pipe joint. The band has metal straps that support a fastener for pulling the ends of the band together tightly around the pipe flanges and lubrication inserts for injecting a lubricant through the transparent band to the surfaces of the flanges. The transparent band is sufficiently clear so as to allow visualization of the amount of the lubricant present at the flanged pipe joint and the presence of any corrosion of the flange surfaces without the removal of the flange protector from the flanged pipe joint.

    • A pipe coupling axially connects two pipes having a smooth outer surface. The pipe coupling includes a first split circular ring and a second split circular ring. The first and the second split circular rings are made from a metal strip. Each of the strips have a radially inner edge surrounding the ends of the pipes. A plurality of teeth are disposed at the radially inner edge of the strips. The teeth are disposed in the plane of the respective rings.
